But how economical is it? That's the big question. It does us no good if the cheapest fuel from this process is priced at $10-$15 a gallon

They don't sound very Conservative.  I have yet to see used plastic that clean.  :popcorn:

Take a look at the heating oil in your fuel tank, it isn't too clean either. That's why they have filters in your furnace, and you still have to get it cleaned periodically. And of course by turning it back into oil, the may be able to convert it back into plastics again. In any case there are economies of scale; that oil may be $10 to $15 a gallon on a small scale, but much cheaper with mass usage.
