Bert are they photos you have posted or photos someone else has posted and tagged you in?
If it is just you own photo go to your photos tab and open the picture. At the bottom there are several questions including one asking if you want to delete the photo. Tell it to remove the photo and you are done.
If you are tagged in a photo on someone elses page you can remove your tag which removes it from your photos. It however does not remove it from theirs. You would have to ask them to delete the main photo on their page.
