I hate friggin' Trump and all my problems are because of him here is why. I can't get contractors to my house because of Trump's economy. Everyone is a couple of months out expect for the very high dollar contractors that want $10,000 to $12,000 dollars for a 36 inch by 42 inch stand alone shower. So I'm doing it myself.

I took the sawzall to the big box store fiberglass shower and low and behold I cut an electrical three way wire and now my hallway lights don't work. I can't get an electrician here until Dec 2nd and that's just not going to work for Mrs. Bronx.

So here is the help I need. What can I do to fix it. It's a three way wire and the writing on the wire is TYPE NM-B 14-3 WITH GROUND.

Here is the question can I go to the electrical supply house and buy a kit to splice into it.....? If yes what is the name of the kit....?

All and any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

22-10 AWG Tap Splice Assortment (10-Pack) found at homedepot or any big box.
These are easy to use and do not need any special tools. There are also butt connectors which will need to be crimped. Just throw the breaker first.

Sorry the pic is so large.

I suggest pulling the wire together and using the Red wire nut weather proof type with a gel sealant if water might ever be an issue, they don't cost much at all, and just reattach the wires together.

it is illegal to have a splice inside of a wall or a junction box inside of a wall where they are not accessible.  That is how FIRES happen.  You need an electrician to run a new length of 14/3 Romex through the wall to re-establish the connection.

Thanks for correcting, I saw Bronx was looking to splice wires and really did not think about the problem was indoors.

Or he could pull the wire on his own. Remember, he's doing this without an electrician and FWIW, if he splices it correctly assuming, as he stated, it's only a hallway light with little to no load, he'll never have an issue.

The way a bedroom gets wired into a bathroom GFI circuit breaker, I have little faith in that industry.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

I despise GFCI breakers, they are the bane of the industry! A lot of power backup systems won't work because they see them as a short.

Thanks for posting and I looked into this with my licensed electrician Altom Electric. They are the ones that rewired my whole house. They're a two man team and they will be off for two weeks and I can't have my bathroom gutted for that long. They told me to use what is called a "3-wire in-wall splice kit" and that it's 100% legal in the State of Georgia.

Now the wire I cut was a 3 way wire for my hallway lights that lead to my bedroom. It's the wire that has two light switches on one end of the hallway and one the other end that controls the same set of lights.

They did inform me that I can close up the wall and they can snake a new wire through when they get back from the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Here is what a 3 wire In Wall Splice kit looks like. Thanks for all the input and help.
