Title: Is there such a thing as a "pick-proof" lock? Maybe....
Post by: TboneAgain on October 18, 2014, 04:15:45 PM
The susceptibility of most locks to talented pickers has always been the fact that a rigid key requires a linear keyway. That means every part of the keyway, front to back, is accessible to a malcontent with a few simple tools, some talent, and a few seconds when nobody's looking.

Here's a video, produced by a guy who is renowned for his lock-picking abilities, that shows a lock that he considers pick-proof. I just wonder if the kid down at the Ace Hardware in town would be able to cut me a spare key....

Enjoy.

Really neat configuration. I love locks, nearly as much as flashlights.
I have a couple of padlocks that have unique keys that appear to be near impossible to pick, but like most locks, they're vulnerable to liquid nitrogen and a hammer.

That is without a doubt the biggest, ugliest lock pick I ever saw. Do you carry one of those in your shirt pocket?  :tounge:
