How is Toy getting around now, is the worst over?I gave her a shower yesterday for the first time, she's been to scared to attempt it so she's been using a huge pot to wash.
Quote from: Possum on May 12, 2024, 06:19:10 AMthe storms are entertaining to say the least. Drought that last months/years gets real depressing. Know what you mean about growing up with no ac. we used to sleep outside, when it cooled down enough, if it did, we would move inside. Something you don't see anymore, if you happened to be in town, and back then it was a treat to go there, if a thunderstorm came up you would see people rushing outside to roll upI know what you mean about gulley washers, I haven't had a great one in several years.theretheir windows in the cars. Hell, half the cars had kids in them. Different times. Miss them.
Just had the first storm of the day pass through, almost an inch, next one is a couple of hours away. Should get another inch, not too bad. Maybe it's drowning grasshoppers.
Creek has been running for a couple of weeks again, hopefully that means the water tables are finally getting full. Creek looks good again, it is a rock/gravel bottom. During the drought, the rains we got just ran dirt into it and did not blow it out. Hell, I had grass growing and cows grazing in the creek. The bottom was all mud. Banks were full of decaying leaves sticks and all the common crap that forms along the creek beds. That is all gone. Looks good now. Lots of fallen trees. Stihl chainsaw and the grappler will get that cleaned up in a hurry. Dog has plenty new places to go swimming. She is really turning into a good companion.

So I stood there looking across the area when a baby Cinnamon colored bear, no more than 200 lbs. if that, pokes his head up, and goes back to eating.
Yes, Toy's daughter came up and cleaned for Mothers Day, but obviously didn't get the bear can locked because she's too short to push it down to lock and he drug in out and had a good time.
I felt sorry for the little shit, almost felt like letting him finish, but I didn't know what was in there that could hurt him.
Anyway, I guess it was time to get up.

I know what you mean about news hype, here in Nor Cal, 100+ is a normal summer, 110/114 is a sit and stay cool, but now they open all these govt centers, even fire stations are forced to let people in, yes, the perpetual homeless rip them off blind.
From what used to be, A Say, "Stay The fuck Out Of Town Day" to come on in, tax payers will feed and house you for the day.
I grew up without air, didn't even have a fan, laid in bed till I passed out, but now, if it's over 90, it's huge news.
Fuckin pussies!
Well, lets hope your worst is over, that's some nasty ass weather no one should have to deal with.
But hey, at least it's a warm rain.
