Quote from: ldub23 on May 16, 2020, 08:57:37 AMIts not at all a given a vaccine will ever be developed or if it is will it even matter with the many mutations of the virus by then. Some bad news on the bailout front. Listened to an interview of senator cornyn on the radio and not a word about not bailing out states.
Quote from: ldub23 on May 16, 2020, 09:28:39 AMi belive he said he wouldnt sign the pelosi bill. T he senate bill is secretly being written now. Do you have a link saying he wont sign ANY bailout bill?

The more they focus on fighting the cranberry sauce and pecan pie of the bill, the more we will see them acquiesce to the turkey itself. Like Lucy and Charlie Brown with the football, this happens every time."Senator cornyn was talking about the senate bill today.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/cassidy-menendez-propose-smart-fund-to-help-state-and-local-governments-due-to-covid-19/ar-BB12WwvFNEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - Louisiana U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, a Republican, has teamed up with New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez to propose billions of dollars in help for state and local governments affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic."The proposed State and Municipal Aid Recovery and Transition (SMART) Fund would contain $500 billion to help states and local governments, according to Cassidy and Menendez, who discussed their plan with news media around the country on Monday (April 20)." This bill is being worked on so i guess they didnt get the memo they cant write spending bills. The Pelosi bill is 900 billion for states, this one is 500 billion so they will compromise at 750 billion. Trump IS GOING TO sign a state bailout.
Quote from: WMK on May 16, 2020, 08:46:57 PMRead that entire Horowitz piece and want to thank you for sharing it. Couldn't find a flaw in it, unfortunately. We'll soon find out; just how prescient is Horowitz!?
Quote from: ldub23 on May 16, 2020, 10:21:37 PMThe sad thing is everyone here knows how republicans do things. The senate is going to trim pelosi's bill to 2.5 trillion, call it a conservative victory and move on. And Trump WILL sign it.The bad part is Trump is holding all the cards. No bailout till every state is fully open but he is going to get bluffed and fold.
Quote from: ldub23 on May 17, 2020, 01:15:41 AMRand Paul? The article also points out its not too late. Let the president and your elected representatives know a yes on bailout=a no vote in Nov
Quote from: Killer Clouds on May 17, 2020, 01:43:51 AMSo who would you vote for if not a Republican? A democrat to then strengthen what you say you disagree with in the first place? That makes alot of sense.
