Quote from: The D-Man on February 17, 2020, 02:02:28 AMIt's starting to get ridiculous now. Total of 454 cases on that ship. Does the flu spread that easily?
Quote from: s3779m on February 17, 2020, 09:56:23 PMI'm a little skeptical of the article, but it did make me wonder about one question, would China go to this extreme to destroy wall street? Everyone hates a panic, wall street especially. China needs to cut back on population anyway????
Quote from: Solar on February 17, 2020, 11:46:35 PMYeah, come off with a lot of embellishment, but much of it screams truth. Like I said, I have no idea if it's real or fake, but it was an interesting read. We'll know soon enough if the world can't hide the deaths any longer. If his claims of incurable don't come to fruition, we'll know it was total BS.
Quote from: s3779m on February 17, 2020, 11:51:46 PMHate to say it, but the main reason I am skeptical is if he is telling the truth, we are screwed.
QuoteBut the hit to China's economy is real and huge. Coal consumption is half what it should be at this point after the end of the lunar new year holidays. A ir pollution, as measured by satellites, is down 20% to 50%.

Meant to mention on an earlier post about the other article posted by Solar, is Xi still alive? If the economy is hit that bad, and china losing face all over the world, it would not suprise me if he is replaced. Greta should be happy.
Quote from: MichaelJ on February 18, 2020, 03:08:33 AMWhile I don't buy the entirety of that article, I think there is some kernels of truth(s) in there. It is highly, highly, highly likely that they are downplaying both the number of infected and deaths, as well as the seriousness of the illness. If a virus had been "manufactured" in a Bio weapon facility it could have greatly intensified the effects, or even caused a mutation, of what was an ordinary treatable virus making it very hard now to treat. If this is the case, we could see over 50 million deaths worldwide and possibly more until we get a better handle on what they combined this virus with. Not claiming doomsday is coming but this is very scary in the near (1-2 years) term
