The reason I believe the left is wrong. on global warming....I'm freezing my gonads off in Georgia....
People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

Well, see, you crackers don't get it. That's the reason they had to shift the lede from global warming to "man-made climate change." So now, no matter how it goes, it's your damn fault.

All I have to do is put my air conditioner when warm and my heater on when I'm cold. There I solved "climate change".

Now where's my Noble Peace Prize.........

The dude gets it.

If the globe hadn't warmed a great deal over its recent (as aeons go) history, the location I'm occupying right now would be under a sheet of glacial ice more than a mile thick. By the same token, this same location farther back in the planet's history was so hot that nothing, not even vegetation, could live here.

Now we have a small group of humans attempting to hijack the activities of the entire global population because they claim the average surface temperature on the planet may warm more than 1.5 deg. C in the coming decades. Even farther out on the loony scale, they claim they can arrest or even reverse that trend. All we have to do is hand them the keys to the entire global energy complex, a concept that puts me in mind of placing a toddler in the seat of a Caterpillar D10 and starting the engine for him.

BINGO! And all we have to do is allow a global elites cartel to dictate how we live in misery as they enjoy the spoils of conquering humanity.
Proof is in the so called Green energy bull shit of solar panels and wind turbines. When in fact, the cleanest energy source is nuclear and they all know it, but that would simply kill their agenda of killing off Western production under a Free Mkt system.

How is it no one calls them out on this bull shit? They're in on it and getting rich...

Sure, they're in on it and getting rich. But that's what people do. That's what people FLOCK to do when the bountiful Benjamins are being bounced about and borne on the breeze. (How's that for alliteration, eh? )

You are correct. Nukes truly are the obvious answer, both in the short term, and looking decades into the future. The technology is there, and improving almost daily. The environmental footprint is almost non-existent. The energy potential is limitless, predictable, controllable, dependable... everything that solar and wind (and hydro) are not and can never be. Even some "green" folks are coming around to the obvious fact that safe nukes -- the kind we have ALWAYS had* -- offer everything they ever dreamed of in the way of a clean energy source.

But that's not what everyone wants. In some circles, a limitless source of clean, dependable, cheap energy is the opposite of "progress." Nuclear power does not move the lower classes of mankind -- meaning everyone out of power, worldwide -- into the Stone Age, where they belong.

*There was Three Mile Island, of course, an accident that became inextricably bound to a Hanoi-Jane flick called "The China Syndrome." (Despite common lore, the film and the incident were never related in any way.) TMI needs to be remembered as the nuclear accident in which not one single human even got sick. It is an example of how fail-safe systems are supposed to work. All the publicity over the successful containment of the 1979 accident has obscured the fact that the other half of the plant -- the mirror image of the failed TMI-2 -- achieved and largely exceeded all its operational goals. TMI-1 was de-commissioned in September 2019, more than 45 years after becoming operational. In 2017, TMI-1 posted a capacity factor of nearly 96%, meaning that it was able to produce 96% of its potential rated capacity continuously, 24/7. By comparison, solar and wind generators sport capacity factors of around 30%.
