Anybody can invest in the oil industry by buying stock, it is not just limited to the rich.

The poor enjoyed cheaper energy as much as the rich did. The poor were in no way helped by obama and his $5 gas. When the US started selling cheap oil on the world market, it hurt countries such as russian and iran as oil is a main source of revenue for them.

My return in oil stocks has been about 4 % plus  over the 30 years I've been investing in them.

Natural Gas stocks as high as 7%

Coal probably 6%

Thats just the dividends.

I've made a lot of money Buy and selling Exxon, BP and a few other oil stocks over the years.  Chances are anyone who has a 401 K is invested in oil and energy stocks.
