I think Pelosi is looking for votes  ;D
I am sorry but there is a COLAs plan, as a Social Security recipient I say follow it.  I live within my income and adjust as need. Just my way of thinking.

WASHINGTON — The House will vote in November on a bill to provide $250 payments to Social Security recipients to make up for the lack of a cost-of-living increase for next year, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday.

The Social Security Administration is expected to announce Friday that more than 58 million retirees and disabled Americans will go a second consecutive year without an increase in benefits.

Pelosi said she will schedule a vote on a bill to provide the $250 payments when Congress returns for a lame duck session after the Nov. 2 congressional elections. The payments would be similar to those provided by the government's massive economic recovery package last year.

But even if Pelosi can get the House to approve a second payment, the proposal faces opposition in the Senate.

"All members of Congress should join us in supporting this legislation which will be fiscally responsible and upholds our bedrock promise of economic security for our nation's seniors," Pelosi said in a statement.

A one time 250.00 pay out? That won't even cover the massive energy hike reflected on your utility bill for one month.  ::) More desperation in an attempt to buy the senior vote. To late, they already know what's coming their way through cut backs in Medicare, and they've got a little taste of it through their prescription coverage already. Pelosi the elitist extraordinaire really cares about the little people. ::) Time for her to retire to her massive vineyards up in the wine country.

There's just no end to Nancy Pelosi's generosity with other people's money.

It just kind of brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?

Lets see.  They voted themselves a pay raise a while back, and we oldies but goodies get no raise but a $250 bribe.   Haven't they raided the SS fund for their other earmarks when they felt like it?  Have I got that right?

Like a lot of people, they think we're stupid because we older.
