We MUST vote

We must vote down ballot - whatever you want to do with the Presidential vote, help yourself, IMO, vote your conscience.

The absolute LAST thing we want is a Liberal in the WH, and both Senate and House flipped to Democrat.

Hold the House, and Republicans might turn to Paul Ryan and implement his campaign plan of 2012 and start reducing the growth of Government.

Hold the Senate, and Republicans might have a chance to appoint a suitable replacement to the SCOTUS.

The worst scenario is Hillary walking into the WH, and taking both the Senate and House with her.
We've lived under Obama for 8 years, and people have gotten use to executive orders, like the President has some kind of constitutional authority to "rule like a king" - not true!  If the House hanks back the "power of the purse" - yup, it could be an awesome battle, with whoever is President caving in to the will of the people, again.

Remember 1994, Newt Gingrich's "Contract with America".   Here's a reminder, how it happened, 20 year anniversary.

The bottom line is simply, we get back to the Constitution, we thrive.
(I am DLing some of these speeches to educate my kids - we ought to make a "required speech list" for Constitutional Conservative thought.)

You have WAY too much faith in Paul Ryan and the GOP.

For sure....when I see someone supporting Paul Ryan ...I know with certainty they have fallen down a rabbit hole....no sense of reality.  The guy is pussy whipped....very,very weak person...written all over his face...I dont see how anyone can miss that.

Well, it goes back to political correctness I suppose...anyone afflicted with that and many so called republicans and conservatives are devotees of it...nothing more than marxist culturalism.  I see several on this board who really believe they are conservatives as well as constitutionalists that have fallen for that b.s.

The G.O.P. as it was known for a long time has been done away with...The Trump faction has taken over and whether he wins or loses....I hope he changes the name of his group...time to distance himself and his supporters from the bed wetting, politically correct republicans who admire someone like paul ryan...the moron is absolutely disgusting.
What a puke!  How would you like to have someone like that in your foxhole as the commies are commies are coming at you...he would just as soon stick a knife in your back as not...certainly would if he believed the commies would let him live..even as their slave.

I am going the other direction. I will vote for Trump. I will NOT vote for any of the establishment republicans who abandoned the fight.

Wait, are you saying you despise Cruz because he was forced to support Trump, so you'll be supporting Trump?

Trump is not going to win this, IMO.

If you haven't watched the Newt video, do yourself a favor and get a refresher on why a "positive candidate" is a winner with a mandate and a "negative candidate" is a one term, basically useless for advancing an agenda, if elected.

Neither Hillary nor Donald will stand much of a chance to advance their agenda - I suspect this election could set record LOW turn outs, both candidates are THAT negative.  A negative campaign motivates voters for a couple of weeks, but... it's hard to stay habitually ANGRY.   Fear and Anger are short lived motivators, a positive, bright vision for the future draws the electorate (Ronald Reagan).

Paul Ryan has an opportunity to stand out, using a positive message, like he spoke of during the 2012 campaign - why I say don't write him off so quickly.  Ryan is more capable of delivering a conservative message and budget... if, a big IF, he seizes it.  I can't imagine Ryan really wanting Donald Trump as POTUS, better to have an enemy in the WH than a Dem "infiltrator", to fight against, IMO.

I expect a historic record low turnout never before seen in American politics. Fear is not the driver the left thinks it is, where the people hate one candidate more than the other.
I have to disagree about Ryan's ability to foment any change whatsoever, especially after the latest Omnibus/Qe infinity extension.
That wasn't a budget, that was the keys to the freakin treasury and and the printing press.
Ryan has zero credibility.

Based on the last 2 years, yup, I tend to agree.  He's also been up against a politically correct, popular president, and a Senate majority leader who habitually sells out Conservatives.  I can't see Paul Ryan continuing on the same course of fiscal irresponsibility.  We'll see soon enough.

I do see this as a good opportunity for Ryan, he had a good positive message 4 years ago, I hope he returns to it.

Sadly, that message was a lie, he lied his way to getting elected, he's always been an Establishment whore with high aspirations.

Sad, isn't it?
I never thought of 37% of the vote as a win, but one thing for certain, Trump pulled off his promised loss to Clinton.

Newt talking about the Contract with America and the Republican takeover of the House, 20 years after 1994.

QuoteIf a republican wins, on a negative campaign, they will have no political capitol, and no consensus leadership, to govern.  If a republican wins without carefully thought through changes they want, they will inevitably be co-oped, by the city, lobbists, bureaucry, and the cocktail parties ....

Quote I regard it as manically stupid, and unprofessional, to think you can get away with a purely negative campaign.  You turn off all the Moderates, you turn off all the Independents, you drive down the turnout.  If we had run an anti-Clinton campaign in 1994, we still wouldn't have been in the majority.

Newt is a brilliant political tactician - IMO.  the Contract with America was the single most positive thing to come out of Washington during the Clinton era.
I remember reading the "Contract with America", published in a Readers' Digest, while waiting in a Dentist Office - and was immediately on-board.

By contrast, BOTH political candidates are running negative campaigns.

Hillary won't be able to get anything done without executive orders.
Donald - what is his agenda?

Because of those two, I believe the importance of keeping Republicans in control of the House & Senate is more important than every before.

We've had 8 years of political fear to oppose the 'first black president' - House and Senate have done little to oppose Barak.  Are we going to go through 4 or 8 more years of political fear to oppose the 'first woman president'?  I have little doubt, we're going to hear stuff like, "you patriarchal types can't let go and let a woman lead", "Have you always been afraid of a strong woman in authority?", "There you go again, trying to oppress women, and women's rights!".  This is a bit depressing - she's going to have an easy walk into the White House, because Donald Trump isn't trying to win.

Donald isn't making a case for a Trump presidency, all he's done is make the case against Hillary.
We'll set new records for low turnouts.

I think hope the GOP will see the error of their ways and pivot to the right.  I'd much rather hear a positive, bright message for the future than this negative, fear mongering crap from Trump & the Trump-a-loons.

Cruz didn't get the nomination, but he certainly got a big pile of Republican votes.  The RNC might be hoping he's gone and done with, and without the MSM reporting on anything Cruz is currently doing... (media blackout on Ted), it's easy to get the impression he's quit entirely.

This has been true since at least the early 1990s.
