Well, we all know how well Asian kids do in school so why waist our limited resources on them? In the lib world we should take anyone that "looks" Asian and move them to the back of the room!!

You bring up a good point...... Asian kids.

Why do they excel above almost all others in school?  It is because they have parental support, encouragement and even pushing them a bit.  High standards have been placed before them and they are focused on their goal... day after day.  They are highly disciplined and have almost no social life.

When you attend graduation ceremonies at our better Universities and listen to the names in engineering and sciences, every other name rhymes with "Wing Wang Woo".

So why does ANYONE need to be given an edge in the classroom?  Honestly, oppression builds character and endurance for the motivated person.

The OP was about the worst form of racism, Institutionalized racism forced by the administrators of that school! Someone should be fired! This is in a red state to! How does this happen?

Is there not a state agency/body which oversees these public schools over there in Ind?

Regardless, some parents should file suit over this bunk.

It is doubtful that there is a state agency that will intervene.

Which is so sexist it's not funny. Not to mention state endorsement of one religion, over the others....

I've been saying this all along. If you want to see America's future, take a good look at South Africa. Now that the formerly 'disenfranchised' are in charge, they see it as not an opportunity for reconciliation, but a chance for payback.

My God Solar, the Federal Audit's are enough. I don't need more of that from the State Department of Taxation too. Hell they already tried to screw with my Medical Benefits multiple times now. Thanks to a relative, (liberal it turns out, who kept pulling my records, for "audits" and not replacing it back under the VA, yeah....I wind up with bills out the ass.

While I get the problem that black kids in a lot of places aren't availing themselves to education, I don't see how segregating them helps, quite the reverse.  Also, doing this at a third grade level is not going to be effective.  They need to be older to appreciate and understand the benefits of higher education.  I suspect most of them aren't even going to understand or care why they are there, outside of it being on a trip away from their own classroom. 

These so called "smart" people aren't looking at the real reasons why black kids aren't being encouraged to keep up with other kids scholastically. 

In some of the black areas of Los Angeles, your not being "cool" and your made fun of, if you get good grades.  Your peers accuse you of "acting white".  These are also the schools that look like prisons from the outside.  Some of the teachers in these schools used to get paid what was called "combat pay", for working in the bad neighborhoods. 

When my kids were that age (I put mine in private) the graduation rate for these public schools was around 40 percent, with a very low number going on to college.  Compare that to the private school that had a 98% graduation rate, with 75% going on to college.
