New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

He is a former Repugnican and Democrat, but he is now an independent which means he isn't influenced by the special interests on either side. At least in theory he's not.

In theory?

What messed up logic is that?

He is a politician.

His entire livelihood is wrapped up with catering to special interests, in his case, interests from both sides.

Good lord, how is that not obvious?!

Most of us here are well aware of that definition of a Liberal. It is not the only one and it is not even the one in common use today!

By that definition, many Republicans and most Libertarians are, "Liberals".

Not true at all. Repugnicans (many of them, anyways) want to ban abortions and gay marriage. That is the polar opposite of letting people do as they please.

A true liberal would also want to legalize pot. Show me one Republican other than Ron Paul who would legalize pot. And before you say Obama is against pot legalization as well, that's because Obama isn't much of a liberal.

The Republican party is all about intruding on your personal freedoms.

If you are smart enough to know the classic definition of the word Liberal, you should also be smart enough to know that that is not how the word is used today.

Nope. The only people who use the word "liberal" in the manner you describe are right-wingers who use it as a pejorative. And you are using the word incorrectly. The fact that you use it in such a manner does not mean that the meaning of the word has changed. What it means is that you are using the word wrong, and you don't understand what the word actually means.

Government interfering in people's private matters is NOT what "liberal" means. It is the opposite of liberal.

Yawn

QuoteRepugnicans (many of them, anyways) want to ban abortions and gay marriage.

Wrong. Homosexual marriage doesn't exist (until this election by the will of the people).

Marriage has a definition. Gays CAN marry. But they have to marry the opposite gender. There is no other definition for marriage.

Conservatives want to overturn Roe v Wade. That would put it back in the states where it CONSTITUTIONALLY belongs.

Liberals always create these arguments based on their own misguided set of beliefs.  You need to understand the other side before telling us what we believe.

Your post is dripping with Talking point BS.
Conservatives want it left up to the states, we want the Fed to get out of the marriage issue completely, libs on the other hand want the heavy hand of Govt to force acceptance.

Quit watching MSNBC, you're rotting your brain.

No, I'm right. Numerous States allow gay marriage. And many Republicans DO want to ban it. Including Romney himself.

QuoteMarriage has a definition. Gays CAN marry. But they have to marry the opposite gender. There is no other definition for marriage.

Wrong. There are many countries that allow same-sex marriage, and even some U.S. States. I can't believe you don't know this. I thought it was common knowledge.

QuoteConservatives want to overturn Roe v Wade. That would put it back in the states where it CONSTITUTIONALLY belongs.

Wrong again. It belongs between the woman and her doctor. Not a bunch of lawmaking bureaucrats.

LOL. You Conservatives are something else. Not surprising that the 10 most educated States all voted Dem, and 9 of the 10 least educated voted Repugnican. You guys are proof positive.

He's done a very good job as NYC with some exceptions (like Stop and Frisk). He gets things done rather than just talking like most pols.

Doomberg?????

This is the idiot who wants to arrest somebody for drinking a large soda and ignore Marijuana use.

This is the idiot who wants to fire city cops (who were assigned to an FEDERAL task force) for going over to New Jersey to follow up on
a lead involving a terror plot. Despite the fact that city cops in the homicide division have been going to Jersey (and 49 other states in the union likely) to follow up leads since their inception.

Bloomberg as President...

Well if the terrorists drink large sodas then we would be safe....
