Yeah - our President is the definition of childish, a temper-tantrum throwing man-child who is full of himself and tells his followers to get the face of his political opponents, and his Justice Department to drop a solid case of voter intimidation against those same opponents.

He'll see if this downgrade is the final nail in the dollars coffin on the world market. Once the dollar is no longer the standard on the market, you'll need a wheelbarrow of it just to fill your gas tank.

Yeah but it's a bit misrepresentative of the situation to simply ignore the fact that there were dedicated communists in the employ of the State Department who were spying for the Soviet Union. Sort of puts a different complexion on things.

Always have been, always will be. Spies go where the info is.  Or they're recruited because of where they are.

Well OK then. Joe McCarthy was just doing what was necessary to end a real threat to the U.S. or more accurately he saw an opportunity to grab some power by trampling the Constitution and brought an end to a real threat to the U.S. Either way a real threat to the U.S. was disrupted.

Am I OK with McCarthy's means? No.

Did this particular end justify these particular means? Yeah.
