Title: UAW Throws In The Towel On Cahattanooga Vote

It always makes my day when a union loses again and admits defeat. The spin the UAW puts on this is laughable in that they blame the process when the NLRB is stacked in the union's favor. I would suspect the bottom line is they saw their cause was lost so why spend money on this when they can use it to promote dem candidates.

QuoteThe union had appealed the high-profile vote to the National Labor Relations Board arguing that "a firestorm of interference from politicians and special interest groups" had played a central role in causing workers to vote against the union.

There are no bigger special interest group  than the unions...

Unions are a prime example of what governments do as well.  Start out with a good idea to help the people but eventually they become more about maintaining power over those it represents and less about how much it can help them.

When unions portray management as the enemy and how they need to be defeated and not those who are key to the workers employment they stop being helpful.

If unions found a way to help increase the viability and competitiveness of a business everyone would be better off.  But they prefer to gut the goose rather than insuring it stays healthy.

QuoteUAW President Bob King said the UAW based its decision on the belief that the NLRB's "historically dysfunctional and complex process" potentially could drag on for months or even years

So when did the union start thinking about time and other peoples money?  (union dues)

The irony about all this is interesting. Over the past seven or so years the unions have been all in for Obama. Richard Trumka bragged about his access to Obama and the WH. The unions have spent millions, possibly billions, supporting Obama and his crowd. They have blindly worked tirelessly to get Obama elected twice. What has it gotten for the unions? Their membership continues to decline and their record of winning elections has been poor. Now Obama has thrown them under the bus on Keystone. They have successfully burned all bridges back to any assistance from the GOP with their actions. At what point do they quit trying to kick Lucy's football?
