Has anybody heard of it. Well due to Obama laziness most of the crap he gave us, well can be repealed by congress.

Very interesting article. I would love to post the whole article but I guess that wouldn't be fair to The Right Scoop.

WOW! Looks like Republicans can now REPEAL most of Obama's onerous regulations...

Everyone right now is talking about the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which gives Congress the ability, with simple majorities, to overrule regulations from the executive branch. Republicans are eager to use the law, and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy this week unveiled the first five Obama rules that his chamber intends to nix.

Here's how it works: It turns out that the first line of the CRA requires any federal agency promulgating a rule to submit a "report" on it to the House and Senate. The 60-day clock starts either when the rule is published or when Congress receives the report—whichever comes LATER.

"There was always intended to be consequences if agencies didn't deliver these reports," Mr. Gaziano tells me. "And while some Obama agencies may have been better at sending reports, others, through incompetence or spite, likely didn't." Bottom line: There are rules for which there are no reports. And if the Trump administration were now to submit those reports—for rules implemented long ago—Congress would be free to vote the regulations down.

There's more. It turns out the CRA has a expansive definition of what counts as a "rule"—and it isn't limited to those published in the Federal Register. The CRA also applies to "guidance" that agencies issue. Think the Obama administration's controversial guidance on transgender bathrooms in schools or on Title IX and campus sexual assault. It is highly unlikely agencies submitted reports to lawmakers on these actions.

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

This is GOOD for Congress, provided they use it.   An excellent way to rein-in the runaway regulations of a half-crazy, unchecked, liberal federal agency.   Needs to be recommended reading for everyone.... especially those elected to Congress.

Bullstuff squared and cubed.  We do not need any "Congressional Review Act."  What we need is to reign back the system so regulatory agencies are limited to enforcing laws passed by congress AND NO MORE. Congress should have ALREADY "reviewed" the regulations because THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONES WHO WROTE THEM!!  If a regulation was NOT written by congress, then it has NO BEARING IN LAW.

Our system is definitely busted. But we need to fix it the RIGHT way. To do otherwise would imply it is just and proper for regulatory agencies to write their own laws.
