That's my point. Cops couldn't stop this unless they were standing guard by her desk. Cops don't do that. No point in bringing cops up in this thread. It's nonsense to pretend they would've stopped this. The premise of this thread is super flawed and nonsensical.

Actually here in Ca, the County/State hires off duty police to station all day in their buildings.
In this case, the city has lost nearly half its police force, so it's understandable that no cops were around to help, even when 911 is dialed.
But then, they'd have been forced to call a social worker.

This is akin to the time I called Shurflow pumps and asked for parts help, the lady on the phone said "Hold, I'll get you a number".
She read off my own number, I am the goto guy for pump repair.

Same if she'd have called 911, the operator would have said: "stay on the line", then called the social workers own number back.

I tend to disagree. Especially after reading more of the story.  The social worker tried to "difuse the situation", we don't know for how long she tried this but after many many years wearing a badge I'd  surmise it went somethig like this:

Social workers invites obviously distraught man in her office (Mistake) instead of notifying security (if they even have such a thing) or calling the cops to begin with coz she has this tremendous confidence in her degree from whatsamatta U ad she is gonna prove to the world that superior intellect will prevail when dealing with distraught persons because her professor told her so and we don't need the racist cops who will just likely beat on the poor man anyhow.  I'll just reason with him ad....OMG whats that sticking out of my chest?

What got this poor woman killed was the Leftist sob sister belief that these street people can be "reasoned with" and we don't need the cops, who should all be defunded and done away with and replaced by smart people like us..  I've been hearing that BS for 40 years and it never works.

Expect to see more and more of this in area's where they "hamstring" law Enforcement ad "defund the police" is a campaign slogan

Spot on, bravo!  It is the mindset of the modern libtard with a degree in human engineering from the famous Whatsamatter U.  They used to say that Dr. Spock ruined a whole generation of kids, well that was just the start.  Next came the "time out" for whatever the problem. 

Little Johnnie hangs the family cat and then guts it while the cat is hanging from a rafter in the garage.  The adoring parents find what's  left of the family cat and ask little Johnnie if he knows what happened to the cat.  Johnnie claims he found it that way.  Finally admits and gets a mile scolding about the "right and wrong" thing and then is sent to his room for a 10 minute timeout.  Problem solved. 

Years later Johnnie is high on meth, pissed off and goes to see a social worker to get results.  Social Workers degree from Whatsamatter U. is hanging proudly on the wall behind her desk, now splattered in blood and she lay on the floor with a knife sticking out of her.

There are deranged street people out there that can't be locked up until they kill someone.  According to the marxists the Police are the problem and need to be defunded and "re-imagined".  Hello Seattle and Portland.
