If we walk away, it's Europe's war, and Russia will destroy them.
If they try and drag NATO in, we walk away from NATO. That's the only way to look at this.

Trump's remarks follow Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying that the U.S. was prepared to "move on" if negotiations could not end the war.

"If it is not possible to end the war in Ukraine, we need to move on," he said. "We need to determine very quickly now, and I'm talking about a matter of days, whether or not this is doable."
