Jon Stewart himself flatly told his viewers (in a recorded spot run many times) that ANYONE who depends on the Daily Show for their sole news source is as wrong as it ever gets. This is provable fact. He is a satirist, not a news anchor.

Intellectually it was sheer hell watching Lewis Black from 10 feet away, telling me what was wrong with Bush's America. I still laughed when he was funny, which the Daily Show is not.

American political humor as we've seen from John Billings, Will Rogers, and even H.L. Mencken (a devout leftist) all ring true today. Great humor focuses on the universal. Today's humor (particularly by leftists) is mean-sprited and sells its targets far short.

Anyone who has some familiarity with reality of mental illness knows being a lefty isn't a form of mental illness so Dr. Rossiter is either wrong, in which case who cares what he thinks, or he's trying to appeal to conservative conceits, in which case who cares what he thinks?

Some lefties are smart although they're rarely as smart as they think they are. Most lefties are functional. They can hold down jobs, raise kids, order from a menu so they're not nuts.

Another view of lefties is that they're emotionally stunted. They stopped growing, emotionally, about the age of seven or eight.

The world revolves around them and all they're concerned with is getting their demands satisfied. They're unconcerned with who satisfies their demands or how they're satisfied just as long as they get what they want. They don't want to hear about any downside or objections. Don't tell them that there's some reason why they can't have what they want.

Perhaps, Dr Rossiter and you are not so far apart. I didnt read into his perspective as though the liberals are nuts. Did you read the link I gave in my first posting? Sounds as though you two have similar opinions of the lefties.

I definately agree that liberalism starts at home and in school....also what kids see on TV...

My parents are both republicans, and if it weren't for them I would have ended up a flaming liberal...my teachers in hawaii were always pushing liberalism, same with the teachers in California... but my parents always set them straight...

Now that I have kids, I see the same thing happening with their teachers...I watch the Disney Channel with them and I can totally see Disney pushing the liberal agenda,...I always point it out to my kids so they can be aware of it as well.

Whose going to do better in feudal society? Someone who's thrilled when the lord of the manor goes riding by, seeing comforting evidence that the superior are seeing to their faithful vassals or the stiff-necked son of a bitch who's of the opinion that if the lord of the manor has to take a dump every day maybe the similarities between his lordship and the common folks are more important then the differences?

I wonder how much of America's success comes from convincing the latter group that America's just going to be a better place for them then the old country?

The ability to be very crafty and manipulative so the the mentally ill patient gain what he or she really wants... That is not uncommon with some illnesses. Also, some of them can and do hold jobs and are functioning well enough.

I have a brother who is schizophrenic... You should have been in the Dr's. office when the Dr was sharing the symptoms... You would have learned that some patients really are similar to what you describe.

Don't over think it, I believe there is a part of liberalism that is a mental dysfunction, like never growing into a mature adult, willing to accept responsibility for ones own actions.

On the other hand, some people just like the party atmosphere of the left, like jumping on the bandwagon of hope and change, which has probably created more thinking liberals than we could have hoped for.
