Good article on what's going on.

Cruz has long said that the Southern-heavy March 1 contests — when Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama, among others, vote — will be an "amazing day" for his campaign. He never promised a victory in South Carolina, but he has been clear that he saw the state as friendly territory, underscoring the extent to which he fell short Saturday—and highlighting his coming challenge.

A brand new Emerson poll out today shows that Trump has now pulled with in 1 point of Cruz in Texas, 29-28. Thats a statistical tie. And Rubio is at 25. Any knows that if Cruz loses Texas, he's done.

A poll out yesterday out for Georgia has Trump up at 34, Rubio at 22, and Cruz at 20. A poll out Monday for Georgia has Trump at 32, Rubio at 23, and Cruz at 19.

Thursdays debate, IMHO is a make or break night for Ted.

I hope he is working overtime honing his message and working on a full court press strategy of exposing Trump and Rubio for what they are.

He really is going to need to throw out the queensbury rules for debating and when either of them throws out the "LIAR" card, talk over, around and through the moderator to make it known point by point who the "LIARS" are.

HE MUST take the gloves off and own the stage Thursday.  This is the ONLY way to expose those two and have the media report it.

If not, he has no one to blame if he flames out Super Tuesday but himself.   .... It absolutely KILLS me to say that for the good of our country.....

My thoughts exactly.  Cruz can NOT allow Trump to shout him down.  He needs a Reagan "I'm paying for this mic" moment.  He also needs to point out Trump's bluster and big talk about a YET TO BE FILED suit!!

Both New Hampshire and Nevada were virtually a given for Trump, which is true, but SC was not. SC was supposed to be Cruz's safe haven to clean up with Evangelicals and come in at least a close 2nd, if not win.

What happened though? Cruz lost the evangelical vote, failed to win even 1 county, and statistically came in 3rd in SC. Yes, a 0.2% difference is practically a tie with Rubio but that extra 1,000+ votes for Rubio takes bragging writes and momentum away from Cruz.

Cruz needs to bring intangibles, based on anger.

He hasn't said anything quotable... I.E. American lexicon quotable.  He should have at least one by now.  That's the sign of a legendary thinker.

He should come on-stage with an orange...  display it...  He can say he's celebrating being endorsed by the California Republican Assembly yesterday.  Then he can later squeeze the juice out of it to embarrass Rubio's lackluster Florida-letdowns in the US Senate.

Cruz has gotta do the unexpected.  He's the choice of the TEA Party.  I hope he still realizes that.  Look what happened to Beck when he forgot who his audience was.

Ted should pick something out of Thursday's headlines and jump on it hard.

Emerson doesn't have a good track record where the right is concerned.

Cruz needs to come out and call out Trump for what he is - A NY Liberal using NY tactics to masquerade around as a Conservative.

He already did with the "New York Values" remark that kind of backfired.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

He did say NY Values but he did not go so far to say that Trump is masquerading around as a Conservative.

He needs to call Trumps bluff when Trump beats the drum of "well, Reagan evolved". Cruz needs to point out that yes, Reagan evolved but in doing so he was the face and leader of conservative movement and was a Republican Governor of California all before becoming President. Reagan didnt evolve in 1 or 1 years, more so 5-6 before becoming governor and then another 4-5 years after that before becoming President. So in total an evolving over 12-15 years.

The main problem is Trump sucks up all the oxygen in the room. He dominates the media.

Essentially you're right...
But to set the record straight? It's the left that made the claim that Reagan evolved, and nothing could be further from the truth.
Reagan, like many Dims of that era were solid Conservatives, far more Conservative than most Pubs in the GOP today.
What Reagan said was he never left the party, it left him, and the most obvious move was to join the GOP, before it was completely taken over by the Establishment.

Years later Reagan ran head long into the Establishment when he first sought the nomination for POTUS, only later to bypass them with a grassroots movement for the base and win in a landslide.

Yep, he needs a moment (multiple in fact) at the debate, And yes, the polls are not looking good, that is precisely why this debate is so important.

I honestly am more infuriated with so called conservatives supporting Trump than the walking dead who elected our current POTUS.   If I hear of someone I know, that is considering voting for Trump in a primary and after I talk with them still votes for him...that will end a friendship.  So far I don not know of anyone in my circle who is that dumb.

Rubio 8%

He needs not to be the consummate politician, period. He is, and has been, so he's most likely toast. The public, because of Obozo, his crew and the established republicans, have had it with politics as usual. They crave a non-political leader...someone not groomed like, yes-Mr. Trump.
One more liberal President in 2016 will mean the irreversible, eventual and total demise of our democracy. The rise and fall of democracy IS past the "apathy stage" at this moment. If this  momentum continues on its present path, restoration of democracy will require the least desired of actions.
