There is a debate that Obama DID win in states requiring "voter ID."   But those states require "non-photo" voter ID.  What would that be?  In Michigan, at least where I vote, they always ask for ID (drivers license).  But it turns out they can't enforce it!

What is non-photo voter ID?  Utility bills?  What else?

You have to bring two with the same address, utility bills, bank statements, investment accounts, property tax info.

The problem is, that only proves you LIVE in the USA--along with 20 million other illegals. But then, so does a driver's license--but at least that's a start.

I'd like it to be national that you be required to produce your birth certificate.  I had to do that when crossing the Ambassador Bridge to Canada.  Most accepted a driver's license, but others expected more--passport or birth certificate.

No you don't. You mean birth certificate?  I never got a passport until I was in my mid twenties.. I don't currently have one.  You can get a complete set of documents for the right price, but the more effort that's made to weed out those not entitled to vote, the fewer you'll have slip thru the cracks.

You do not need a birth certificate or passport to get your DL.  You do have to show your Social Security card and answer questions about citizenship.  Pretty easy to get around if you had to.

Maybe it's different here in Maryland.

But damn, they need to stop making it so easy to get driver's license.  We have enough drunk drivers on the road already.

I used to live in Maryland. Back in the day (1970s) I had just moved there and had lost my DL from Utah but wanted to get a Maryland DL. The guy at the DMV asked, "Well, do you have anything that proves you know how to drive?" I pulled out my handy dandy USAF base driver's license and I was good to go!

In Virginia...where I served as a poll watcher, it means your VOTER REGISTRATION, which is married up on as computerized database... about 99% of the people showed up with a drivers license or other ID anyway. They cross ref it at DMV as well.

And yes, you  have to have an ID and Proof of residency to get a Voters registraton card.

Sadly, most libs know absolutely nothing about the past prior to their birth which makes the oblivious to the signs and what the future holds.
