           I always thought so, but passed those thoughts off as somehow not worth the bother. Then I became enlightened to the fact that the original intent designed  America as a Constitutional Republic,
meaning a nation of States with a modest central power. That was when things started to make sense, to add up. Meaning, that was when I realized something had gone wrong.
