Every treatise on communism revolves around the same thing - "how can I make being a lazy, stinking, shifty bum who wants to avoid working for my whole life......into a byzantine, academic-sounding fairy tale ?"

I these people with a passion, I have anyone who uses the term "progressive" to describe themselves, thats just what they call Marxism nowadays...like my sig line says...evil disguised as something else

And it's not just these ideologies that go-against personal-freedom...  It's the convictions of the windbags that push them. 

If I commit to follow, will they snitch on me if they're busted or caught?  Virtually definitely. 

Nah, we can't take the chance on populism.  Just its name infers that somebody betrayed a belief in themselves.
