Good thing I am not running for any office, but here is my Keep It Simple Stupid method to get America back on track.

1.  Start deportation process for all illegal alians, the jobs created would probably still mean under employment for a lot of people, but it would be employment until suitable employment could be found.  Temporarily use National Guard, or other defense at boarders until proper defences could be built.

2.  Repeal the ACA, destroy the monopoly that healthcare companies have by opening between state coverage options, this would let supply and demand have greater impact on the cost of insurance.  When healthcare is more affordable, a greater number of people will be able to get it, including employers.  Medicare/Medicaid need more oversight, have not worked out yet how to prevent fraud and abuse.

3.  No elected if appointed official should be able to vote themselves a raise,   Whatever the national median income is will be their annual income, since they are part-time, this is more than fair.  The president's income should remain roughly what it currently is, adjusted for inflation, that way all elected officials have a vested interest in a positive economy.  Aides will not be tax-payer sponsored, if the official needs them, they have to pay them.

4. Social welfare programs will begin a drop dead date plan.  Welfare is limited to 18 months, disabled persons will be switched, with proof, to SSI.  Food programs will end after 24 months, rental assistance after 30 months, utility assistance after 36 months, healthcare will expire after 42 months or as soon as it is offered through an employer, whichever comes first.  This will wean people slowly off the government trough.

Like I said, I know it is MUCH more complicated than that, but that is how I would stsrt the recovery.  What would you do?  And critique me if you want, I am not afraid to be wrong.

Actually Congress doesn't have to vote themselves a raise. It is automatic! They have to vote to not get the raise!

This is what happens when most of your legislators are drawn from the legal profession!
