How to punish the media

There is no doubt that the mainstream media had a big impact on the election.  They went far beyond their usual biased reporting and became willing participants in a major cover-up and a smear campaign based on lies.

With the popular vote roughly divided down the middle, is there any doubt that the purchasing power of the half that voted for the GOP is significantly greater than half?  Shouldn't there be a way for this power to be applied against a media that has such extreme bias as to influence the election?  If we do nothing but complain, nothing will change and the damage to the continue will continue.

There are organizations that report on media misdeeds, but they have little effect because the media doesn't care as long as they can continue to make a profit, even if it dwindles with loss of viewers and readers.

One way to do something might be a targeted boycott of major sponsors of selected news programs on mainstream media outlets.   There needs to be some kind of organization to rate the specific mainstream media outlets in terms of degree of bias, identify sponsors, and get the word out, including providing a means for discussion.

Without having any specific plan in mind, I saw a couple of domains available and grabbed them, punishthemedia.com and punishthemedia.org (.org would redirect to .com).

I have made a limited effort to reach out to existing organizations, such as Brent Bozell's, but with no response.  I would give them the domains if they would use them for a focused effort.  Maybe they want to stay in their comfort zone just reporting and not doing anything about it.

Soliciting any ideas on how to make this happen.  I also have Facebook and Twitter accounts, punishthemedia.  I would prefer my role to be somewhat limited due to time.  My main thing was to get the domains and I have them hosted using Wordpress software.  If someone wanted to run with it, that would be fine with me.

Yawn

It's a great start, but how would you distinguish this site from all others already doing similar things?

The name is a little limiting, but it is usable. You could post info on the latest boycotts, some you may or may not approve Ellen Degenerate/JC Penney, etc).  Of course, you could post daily examples of media bias.  The only problem is, you'll need to separate this site from all the others doing similar things. You have to give the reader a reason to go to your site first for the type of information you offer.  One good thing though, the name is very easy to remember. I'm surprised the domain wasn't snapped up years ago!

If you get it developed, you might be able to get a good price for the domain.

Ever wonder why Mark Levin's site isn't simply called marklevin.com?  Some smart guy bought the domain and wants 1 million dollars for it! Mark Levin refuses to buy it, so he's "stuck" with marklevinshow.com

I've seen specific sites like http://msmboycott.com and there are links from there to other sites to boycott other networks.  I get the impression those sites are not effective.   I don't know what any issues are with those sites.  Maybe there are too many targets.  I'm thinking the effort should be focused, only a few sponsors of one villain at a time.  Maybe there needs to be more effective use of social networks.  I don't know.  What causes some things to go viral and many others to just sit?

I do have a few more general domains, but thought these would be particularly effective for this one mission.  We shall see.
