DNC superdelegates warn they will block Bernie Sanders at convention and spark civil war within party

Senator Bernie Sanders' issues with the Democratic establishment may continue past the nominating races and into the Democratic National Convention, according to a new report.

If Mr Sanders arrives at the convention with any less than a majority of delegates pledged to him, he may find himself with a wave of superdelegates voting against his nomination.

The New York Times reported Thursday that in interviews with 93 superdelegates, only nine said that Mr Sanders arriving at the convention with a plurality was reason enough to support him as nominee.

In the event that Mr Sanders does only win a plurality of pledged delegates, there could be a brokered convention and subsequent fight to choose a nominee.

The Times report was "based on interviews with the 93 superdelegates, out of 771 total, as well as party strategists and aides to senior Democrats about the thinking of party leaders."

The Bernie people will go absolutely NUTS if this happens.

If this is correct why in the world would they come straight and let the cat out of the bag. All Bernie has to do is counter with I'll split the vote and run as an independent. Game over.

Part of it may have to do with conflciting positions. Pelosi and Schumer publicly say they will support him, while many other less promininet Dems say they won't. I've often heard it said that Hillary owns the Super Delegates so it will be interesting to see what she says too. So far she too has at frist said she won't; and I may be mistaken but I thought that I read somewhere yesterday that she's having second thoughts and that she would.

The Mainstream Democrats went along with public attacks on members of the Trump Administration. Now, the Monsters they have created may turn on them if they don't do exactly what these Monsters demand.

It's likely the Bernie Bros. have already established a list of all the home addresses of each of the Democrat Super Delegates and staff of the Democrat National Committee.

Hillary can do as she may but if Bernie splits the votes and runs as an independent....well, it's game over......unless like Taxed pointed out Bernie just might be ready to cash out. He better hurry because my understanding is he's getting hammered in South Carolina, he will lose Florida, and with Super Tuesday knocking at the door...well we'll see. IMO...California, New York, and the rest of the commies in the New England States will back comrade Sanders.

That's what I'm seeing as well, that they staged Joe for a comeback.
But they still have to deal with the "Bought Vote" State, Ca, and now that Trump has his people watching, we may see a reflection of true voter sentiment out here.
No matter what happens, Bernie's pets will be there to bring about revenge on the DNC. They hate the Dim party more than the hate Trump.

This may be true, but it is still pure speculation. I say let this play out. No need to try and make it worse for democrats. They can handle that part on their own.

Not so sure about Bernie but the Dow is down another 990 as I type this and soon more will start noticing it hitting their retirement accounts. Mine are back to where they were at the start of the year.

I think most informed people will realize that there's nothing Trump can directly do that will reverse it. The market is decling on future expectations re: Coronavirus. It will be back. And if reports are true, there's a vaccination or some treatment in the pipeline.

Besides we still have a long way until Nov.

You had me take a look at my stock portfolio, f^*k now you have me opening another bottle of Jameson Whiskey. If the stocks keeps dropping to hell with the election I might be reduced to buying Old Crow Whiskey.

Put your big boy pants on, the stock market will be fine especially since you having Trump losing the election due to the stock market dropping for a few days. But have no fear the liberal Associated Press (AP) comes to the rescue by calling the democrats liars about their misinformation about Trump's plan to combat this virus.

The markets got a long way to go before it even comes to where we were in Nov. 2016.  Having said that, the Bulls have been running wild on Wall Street and this correction may turn out to be good for the health and future stability of the economy.  A whole lot will depend on whether this Corona Virus is contained and runs it course by the end of this flu season. 

BTW, I think the market s way too heavily invested in Communist China and perhaps only something like this will be what it takes for corporations to say that that cheap labor isn't worth the unexpected negative consequences of helping to prop up the largest Communist Government on earth.  China doesn't really care if millions die, as long as they keep the virus out of the areas where the party elites live. They can always evacuate the sick and vulnerable out to their hinterlands and nobody will say shit about it.

I don't want to spread conspiracies, but how the f**k do we know that the damn Chinese Communists haven't released a biological warfare form of the flu into their population so it would spread to and collapse the capitalist economies of the western world.  Mao Tse Tung sent them all to the rice fields during his Great Leap Forward.  The Chinese take the long view and they know even if their economy collapses, they can adapt.  I never trust any COmmunists; not Bernie Sanders and not the ChiComs.
