Trump has increasingly been labeling the immigration mess an
invasion. Good for him as calling a spade a spade is long overdue.
A reflection:
In 1871, Von Bismarck ordered the military and political leaders of
defeated France to the Hall of Mirrors @ Versailles, in order to sign
the Treaty ending the Franco-Prussian War.
He removed all chairs/lounges from the Hall, leaving the French standing,
and next sent subordinates into the room bearing a single table and chair.
Then he entered, sitting down and informing the French;
"Since ancient Gaul, you have entered Germany at any whim and
plundered at will. That era has now over."
He then had them sign the Treaty which annexed Alsace-Lorraine on the border
and imposed a War Indemnity on France of multi-billions in today's dollars.
Consider Mexico:
They are neither ally nor friend, still insisting that our Mid-South West was stolen
from them; even though it was paid for as a gesture of friendship 170 years ago.
Presently they provide a route of convenience for the impoverished/illiterate
masses of Central America; thereby encouraging them to storm the Rio Grande.
De facto, what Mexico is doing is a covert act of war and I encourage Trump
to deal w/it w/the same resolve and tenacity the Von Bismarck did w/the French.
Ignoring the pious and sanctimonious moralizing of our media/political axis;
fear is a vital ingredient in great leadership. Let Mexico, a third world nation/state
of little consequence or value, fear us.

Good point, in the meantime, the borders remain essentially closed, Trump has that power to slow everything down to a crawl, and the Dims heads explode.

It is debatable what due process is in these cases. If a person is to be incarcerated, there must be a hearing within 48 hrs. If they are arrested, detained briefly (processed) and the FREED to be sent back across the border a "hearing" is a moot point. Then again, sometimes these "detainees'" are asked to sign a voluntary waiver to a hearing in favor of re release BACK ACROSS THE BORDER....where they can try again later that night.....an option many take.

The second best thing Trump can do is write an EXo directing the State Dept to process ALL REQUESTS FOR ASYLUM at the US EMbassy in the seekers HOME COUNTRY. Requests for asylum will no longer be handled at the border due to lack of resources....

There are pure, simple legal and administrative ways to fix the mess.  Without BO, Lynch, Holder, Comey running their scam ......... all we have to do is NOT ignore all the laws and processes that already exist.

We do not have to immediately give "super protected citizen status" to every slug that stands at our border, announcing "you will give me asylum".

That's not really a thing, in reality.  It's only a thing when the WH is actively, creatively making up weird shit as they go.  Which stopped in Nov 2016.

Actually, I've always felt bad for the kids at Kent State, just dumb kids.  But then again so were the poor saps in the guard, kids too, who thought they were about to get beaten by the mob.

But I'm all for a new Kent State for this disgusting bunch of violent, threatening, harrassing A-Holes.  They're mostly insane adults who are against everything that normal, productive society works for.  So let 'em square off against the military, the guard, ICE, and get their desired martyrdom.
