Nine Huntsville High School seniors will not be making it to class for the rest of the week after receiving two days suspension for riding lawnmowers to school Thursday morning.

This is a small town in Northwestern Arkansas.  I would think a lawn mower would be a form of transportation.  All in all these boys probably went fishing while on their couple day suspension. I think the "assistant" principle over reacted.  I mean come on they had their parking permits... Instead of turning this into an opportunity, a teaching moment if you will.
Instead they quash individual creativity, in turn, quell future leaders.
This is how the left makes Conservatives, in which we thank you.

It's a very small town and someone was letting his power go to his head.  This was not a harmful prank in any way.  They had their parking permits attached to their lawnmowers and were in their proper parking spot.  The boys even had the permission of local law enforcement.  Heck, I've seen lawnmowers driven to Walmart there.  Just imagine what George Jones, the country singer, would have to say about this

Toy and I grew up in a small town also.  We had guys drive their big tractors to school if the weather was bad or there was a parade for a ball game.  I can think of a lot of other Senior pranks that have actually harmed property and this one is certainly not one of them.

There is a Facebook page set up for the boys and t-shirts are being sold with the proceeds going to Arkansas Children's Hospital.  Now, does that sound like bad boys to you??

Even had police permission?
I wonder if the principal will overturn this nonsense when he returns?

I'm moving this to the poli forum, seems more appropriate.

Wow!!  What's a kid to do?  Myself, I would have had them cutting the school yard after school.     And they call themselves teachers.

Thanks for the full story Sis.  I just may have to get one of those T-shirts.  It really does sound like the assistant principal was on a power trip.   These boys obviously had not only their parents permission but the local law enforcement as well..

And yes we grew up in small town America.  It was not unusual to see tractors being driven to a lot of places.  Even the local farmer boys (and girls) were driving these tractors starting as young as 10. Now that would have been a fitting punishment.  They already had the mowers there....

The bigger question is, did they actually break school rules?
If so, then fine, otherwise, it was nothing more than a joke.

It was a good clean prank.  Hell we (I) would have been locked up more then once for what I did in school.  LOL  I got my ass whack more than once ever year at school and when I got home also.    But then i also know what would happen if it got caught doing it.  It was always far worse when I got home.

I spoke with my daughter and the high school we all attended now has "Drive Your Tractor To School" days.  We did grow up in a farming community and I lived on a farm for 20 years.  My daughter was driving trucks around the farm when she was 10 with her Grandpa.  She also used to take her naps behind the tractor seat while I worked ground.  It's the same way here.  Those boys have been working on the family farms since they were old enough to put on a pair leather gloves.  It will be interesting to see where this all goes.

WTF?

Why? I did that with my mate Chris. Just because we thought it would be funny driving back to school late after lunch  so everyone in class would look out and see us. nothing happened to us at all. Shouldn't they be worried about kids actually graduating. Kids do silly things because they are kids.

I would love to see the salaries of the board, then question them as to what they actually do, in front of an audience.

One of their recent posts:
We have had several offers of donations for lawn mowing services provided by REAL Lawnmower Boys! :) Ja Maken Me Tan Salon in Huntsville has offered to make a $300 donation if the boys will mow a few lawns of some local elderly that need it. The boys say YES. :) Starting Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon, the boys will mow as many lawns for donations as possible. If you are a business or person interested in putting your lawn in the bidding, please comment below. The boys can do a certain amount a day, and will have two days to do it! ALL proceeds, (Excluding gas money) will go to benefit Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Yeah these kids are real hoodlums.  Toy

Oh, Deere!

I wonder...

I wonder if the Assistant Principal was "in" on it and suspending the students was all part of a plan to get the incident more publicity and thus, possibly, sell more t-shirts to help out the hospital?
