All this hype about the mind blowing endorsement by some mystery person of the Trump, and pfffftt, like a fart in an packed elevator.
But Trump's sale and promotion of a flop event that got his crowd all worked up says more about Trump than it does about Palin, and his inability to read his liberal base support and give them what they want.
Like offering a vampire convention Holy water during the break.

But despite the damage Trump did to his own campaign, my bigger question is did Palin have a price on her values, or was she merely a grifter like Trump?
I look at myself, my family, those close to me, and not one of them would ever sell out their core beliefs for money.
Palin as a Governor always did what was right for the State, regardless of party.
The Dim party even scoured her background looking for anything to discredit her with, and nothing.
She picked up the mantle of TEA and ran with it, kind of like a cripple, but ran regardless.

Then out of the blue, backs a liberal running as a Pub.
I literally compare this to one being against violence and then one day becomes a serial killer.
Did Palin sell out her principles, or was her persona a complete lie all along?

I think there was some sort of falling out between Sarah and Cruz, remember Palin originally backed Cruz full bore when he was the first to announce his Candidacy. Realist and student of human nature that I am, my guess would be that Sarah began hinting at a VEEP slot again.....Ted may have shrugged his shoulders with somebody else in mind.....Sarah goes to Trump, how'dja like me as your Veep I and only I can bring you the TEA Party....Donald....master of the deal, says Ok....or maybe Trump outreached to Palin, whisked her away from Cruz, perhaps a generous donation here and there to her favorite Charity. I keep telling you folks, Trump will buy the election, he has the dough to buy anyone or anything.

Just a few side notes, I see no massive immigration of the TEA party over to Trump's camp as of yet and wouldn't hold my breath over it. If anything Sarah is on the outs, proving to be a quisling.

Next thing, if there is anybody the Dems hate more than Ted Cruz it is Sarah Palin, the left just cannot stand her. So her endorsement of Trump may not go over well with any Dem's planning on voting for him.

Like Solar says, its a fart that fizzled.

I still say Ted Wins Iowa and Trump goes nutz over it.

I would say your analysis is sound. Cruz is smart enough to know Palin would not be a plus for him on the ticket. He needs no assistance in proving he is a true conservative. OTOH, Trump needs a conservative since he is not one.

You know Solar I though about this last question you put forth. I may be way off base with my opinion but Sarah Palin just joined the circus with it's clown as the ringmaster.

Like you stated when Palin governed she governed hard, strong, straight forward, and with the truth. But when she was on the sideline chanting and cheering for her cause it IMO she always looked like a sideshow circus type of think. Like a reality show.

Then the endorsement of Trump comes along and she gets up their blaming everybody and their brother for her family problems it kind of confused me to the point where she reminded me of every liberal making a fool of themselves.

As far as Tea is concerned. This situation with Sarah is like people you meet in life. Some remain friends for life. Some help you along the way then disappear. Then there are the ones that really fooled the crap out of you. You thank them but you both go your separate ways.

Sarah lead the way and I thank her for that, but now is the time to move on. There is a country that needs help being put back together and the only one I see doing that is Ted Cruz.

What's that saying...lead, follow, or get out of the way. I think Sarah Palin just got out of the way.

By siding against Cruz's tax-plan, she's choosing to be taxed twice on an entire gamut of items and business-transactions.  That's not the TEA mindset.

Exactly Bronx, she did turn into her own circus act, then joined one with Trump.
I wonder, and this is merely guessing. But could it be that after being involved with the Establishment, she lost all hope, as in thinking she could not beat the system, that in her mind, taking her cut wasn't so much selling out, but getting while the getting is good, taking the heat and packing up for parts unknown?

I know it sounds strange, but it boggles the mind that someone could throw away all their values and join the enemy camp.
Then there's always the other scenario, where she turns on Trump?
Yeah, all speculation, but I just can't wrap my head around all of this.

Dubinsky

She's was likely promised the Secretary of Energy position.  I posted links to stories on another thread.   Back late last year and then without hesitation when asked recently if offered a position in Trump's cabinet should he win she swiftly replied Energy Secretary.  She didn't sell her soul for nothing.

Her support for Trump is still puzzling to me. I just can't get my arms around it.

Solar, about this I must seriously but respectfully disagree.  She DUMPED ON the needs of the people of Alaska when she QUIT the governorship midterm, leaving the Alaskans high and dry.  Her excuse?  She needed to spend more time with her family.

A suspiciously short time later a new reality TV show came on, starring Palin and her entire family.

I suspect she quit her job to make $$$ on a TV show.

I liked her before this happened, but have had little respect for her since.

When I heard that she was endorsing Trump, my response was, "Who the heck cares?"

Nope.  She is part and parcel of the far right.
Yet she latched onto the Trump NY Values Train?

That was all leftist BS. They hounded her to the point she was no longer able to do the job, lawsuit after suit, costing time and money.
Stepping down would not have been something I'd have done, but I don't have a family to think about either.

I agree with the former poster.  She quit the governorship to make hay while she still had a tad of credibility.  Now she's trying to get it back.  What I can't figure out is why Ann Coulter is such a Trump supporter.  She's neither incoherent nor a dingbat like Palin is.  (I agree with very little she ever writes or says, but she's definitely coherent and intelligent.)
