I think we should consider context. In Europe people have been told what to do by their "betters" for thousands of years. The ones that didn't want to put up with that, came here. I noticed from you and other foreigners that have sometime posted here and other boards, that they sometimes don't seem to understand Americans gut level distrust of government.

Gut-level mistrust of foreign government soon turned to even senior government officials mistrusting the government.
