AF- I keep trying to figure out what it is about Palin that bothers you so much.  These negative "traits" that you have bestowed on her are in your eyes - they are not how the rest of the entire world sees her.  I see strength, compassion, the ability to make a decision for the sake of others instead of herself.  You have twisted her to be what you want to her to be.
That being said my gut says you don't want her as POTUS not for these things but probably because she is a woman.

That is absolutely correct, ST!  My opinion of Palin is my own opinion, which I am entitled to.  I have not wavered from my opinon of Palin since she QUIT as Governor of Alaska and went on her $10 million book barnstorming tour.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion of Palin, also.  Maybe the "positive" traits that you have bestowed on her are due to you twisting her to be what you want her to be, and you want her as POTUS because she is a woman?

See, I can play the "gender card" too.   ;)

The difference on the quitting thing is how we see it.

Obviously you have never backed down, kept your mouth shut or given something up for the sake of others.  There are those whose instinct is to protect those/that which they love no matter the cost to themselves.  I see her walking away from the Governorship as an act of sacrifice.

Differences..... :) :) :)

Why should some one like Sarah LOWER herself to be like those idiot Kardasdsians, Snookie or Real housewives of New Jersey. Where every week we are tortured with their insane lives and nuerosis.

I mean I thought she had more class than that. :-[

It's not really about Palin. If it was there would be more than 8 episodes....

I see Palin walking away from her Governorship as "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".  What did Sarah EXPECT to happen when she made it to the national political stage?  Did she expect the wack job liberals to throw rose petals at her feet?  Was she that naive and ignorant?

I can also think of at least 10 million other reasons (probably much more than that) why Palin has spent her post-Governorship time selling her book, doing speaking engagements, and now doing a reality show.

If Sarah's family is so important to her, then why has she spent so much time away from home since she quit being Governor of Alaska?  Looks to me like Sarah sacrificed her family AFTER she quit the Governorship.

As for me............I have given PLENTY to others, and given up PLENTY for the sake of others.  I rarely back down, but I have no problem admitting when I am proven wrong, and no problem apologizing for it.

You don't know me, ST, so your personal attacks are baseless.

Sorry AF, but you just repeated every lib talking point about Palin.
Palin was being sued relentlessly with no end in sight.
These suits were costing her personally, more than she was earning as Governor.
Alaska doesn't cover the Governor while in office like the rest of the US does, it was her responsibility to deal with them and pay out of pocket to fight each and everyone.
If you were in that position, what would you have done?
Keep in mind, it is interfering with your job.

SOLAR!  Once again you stole my thunder!  :))  I was reading through this thread and was going to post the very observation you made, but then; TOO LATE, there it was!

Sarah's reasons were pretty  well explain by her Lieutnant Governor (after he became Govenor) and that was that she resigned in the best interest of the state of Alaska, because their state had become beseiged by out of state activists filing legal challenges on everything she was doing as Governor, to the point that defending herself was so time consuming that it became an interference in her ability to perform her duties!  Even though  Gov. Palin had prevailed in every legal challenge, she determined that because of the national attack campaign launched against her, her state was not being properly served with her as Governor.  Her Lt. Governor pledged himself to continuing her policies!  (Not quite the same thing as the recent Democrat Governor resignations of crooks, queers and perverts)

LOL Great minds and all that.
I can't believe people can't see through the lib attack machine, if you watch any Network TV, it is all choreographed.
For example, the left had chosen McCain for us long ago, they called him a maverick, as if that should endear him to all, but they knew he was incompetent when it came to running for POTUS.

But what they hadn't counted on, was his choice of running mate, the MSM saw how the Right was identifying with her, and they knew they had to bring her down, and invaded Alaska with everything they had.
Had the media paid 1% of that kind of attention to Husein, we would have never seen him make it past the primaries.

For anyone not to see the bigger picture and swallow what they've been told to believe, is a sad portrayal of the Right.

To anyone looking for candidates, just look to the MSM, if they attack relentlessly, then they are probably the right person for the job.
Don't let the left pick our leaders for you.

Wally and Solar nailed it.  AF had not allowed his logical faculties to process the situation, falling into the trap of calling himself a quitter as well, unless he will acknowledge the facts of the situation and say he would drive himself into bankruptcy under the same circumstances.

People just need to turn off the TV.
We did years ago and haven't had our opinions manipulated in the least.

Yep and they all have an agenda.
One only need study the past, to understand the future.

It's like that Gov Chris Christy puff piece that was recently released, it is the left trying to pick our candidates.
If someone was to look into it deeper, they would find one of two things, either he has skeletons that the left can unveil at the most inopportune moment, allowing the leftist candidate to take the lead, or he is another Schwarzenegger.

The left has mastered the technique, but it's all changing, we have the Internet, and as proof of this, I hold up the Tea party.

Even people who I respect as conservatives seem to have succumb to the propaganda of the left concerning Sarah Palin. If they are honest enough to answer you as to why they don't like her, they parrot back the same media-speak of the leftist media that they otherwise will not trust or respect.  When you interject some facts into the equasion, the conversation dies off, because you can not take out what the commies have programmed so perfectly!

Shame both on the Media and the stupid people who selectively go along with them on whatever lies and distortions and attacks they make on her (and her family) while they selectively ignore this same media for what the recognize as pure propaganda on other issues!

I'm sure many good Germans did the same thing with certain issues coming out of the State Controlled Propaganda machine of the third reich!
