I don't think Hussein will allow such a thing against his friend:

He seems to be the only one that gets it so far... or one of the very few.

But, but, but! Isn't he advocating basically what his dad has advocated. Oh, and did you pick up on possibly being forced to raise taxes. Oh shit, Shinola.

He didn't say quite that, but this is what he said;"The alternative is, we destroy our currency paying for a massive debt," Paul said. "You can either tax people or you can borrow or you can print the money to pay for the debt, but we're at a point where ... as we accelerate the printing of money to pay for the debt, you could destroy your currency, it's happened in other countries."

Borrow, print, r raise taxes to pay for the debt. Truthfully, as I have said before, that no one wants to hear, It will take massive cuts ( basically they aren't there to be had ) coupled with tax increases. The freaking deficit and debt ain't going away by wishing for it.

No Shooter.  They take in PLENTY of tax revenue.  We need cuts, cuts, cuts... some more cuts, and maybe some more cuts.  After that, we can cut some more.  Cuts cuts cuts!

We're working on a projected 20 Trillion debt by the time Obambam leaves office. Couple that with over 100 Trillion in unfunded debt. What cuts will eliminate that kind of debt? Been many years since I took Math, but I ain't stupid and I ain't sticking my head in the sand. Tell me Taxed, exactly where are you going to cut to eventually get rid of the massive debt load staring us in the face? Where, Taxed?

Zero aid to other countries.
Eliminate Dept of Ed. ( Won't happen )
Eliminate Dept of Energy. ( ditto )
Eliminate the IRS. ( still dreaming, Taxed )
Eliminate SS. ( Definitely won't happen )
Eliminate Medicare. ( hallucinating? )
Eliminate Medicaid. ( You must be having a wet dream )

How much are we at so far??

You're doing the Math; you tell us.

Sorry, Taxed, it won't happen to any of it. Reagan campaigned on eliminating the Depts of Energy and Education. How did that work out.

SS, Medicare, and Medicaid may be sound good and they may be modified, but eliminated? Only if the country defaults.

A side note here, Taxed. You may be a brilliant business man and wealthy beyond your dreams, but stay out of politics. ;D

Shooter, you have a hint of hypocrisy....  You get on those that give in to the libs and don't stay pure conservative, but when we go all out conservative, you say it can't happen and we need to compromise.    Which is it??

Said nothing about compromising, Taxed. You are aware of that. I am just saying one has to be practical. The kind of cuts you propose, with out a corresponding alternative will put upteen gazillion, billion folks on soup lines. Not one politician that wants another term will vote for that and you know it. It is a conundrum, no doubt, and if you have yours, I can understand the reluctance to make a two fold attack on the problem. It will hurt my wife and I and our kids all in a like manner.

The simple fact is, unless the spending is reduced to pre Reagan era spending, we're in deep trouble, but, and this is the kicker, it will not happen without spending cuts and an increase in taxes. At least in my opinion.

It's all semantics now.

BTW, if we default on the debt, the hard times we will share will make the Great Depression look like a Sunday afternoon stroll. The riots in the Middle East will be a precursor to what we will face, and not from Mussies, either.

Then why do you say my solutions are not attainable?

These are reasonable cuts to me, and I don't think they will put people in soup lines.  It will free us up.
