Oil is the most plentiful liquid on earth, second only to water. It should be a few cents a gallon to cover drilling, refining, transport & profit, there's so much. It was falsely named a 'fossil fuel' to jack prices up. It's not fossil & oil wells refill naturally. It's abiotic.
