Catalytic converter fines are nothing to ignore. This won't be any different. Then wait for the laws forcing service shops upload all computer diagnostic data to some central computer address. For the highway safety program, they'll assure us. It's for the chilllllllldrennnnnnnn.....

Remember the smart highway system which will someday allow us to get on freeways and let the black box do our driving? They made that sound so attractive, didn't they? Now "they" will know where your vehicle is, to within centimeters.

It's a logical extension of the Total Information Awareness plan to know more about us than we do.
Absolutely!
The gov has a perfect track record in which one can use to predict the future.
In this case the only thing that can't be precisely predicted is the time frame at which they will implement it.

Its very much like sacrificing rights for protection, safer driving while sacrificing our rights, but if you were to survey people, the results would be against gov intervention, but the leftists will look to Ca to be the first to institute (force down our throats) such laws, all in the name of, as you say, protecting the children.

God I'm really starting to hate our gov...
