Hoofer, I keep hearing the narrative that Trump is rich, but it is unfounded.  Can you provide any evidence?  Otherwise, it doesn't make sense for us (anyone) to parrot his false narrative to give the illusion of success.  I would bet the farm that he's barely, if at all, solvent, until I see some sort of tangible evidence.

You could be right, Trump could be rich-on-paper - and I'll bet he's already got it in the works to reimburse every penny he's blowing on campaigning, including cashing in on the free ad stuff.  No, I don't have any evidence, just what we're all hearing.  As I mentioned before, he pretends to throw money around like he's filthy rich, which usually indicates the opposite - rich people aren't stupid with money they've worked so hard for!  Poor people and kids who inherited it, and lottery winners are prime examples, they feel rich and want everyone else to know it!

When they start to "play" ... they hate getting "played" (rich or not).

That illusion of success is critical to Trump, like the "Trump" brand name.  If the name gets tarnished, all hell will break loose!  Note how defensive Donald becomes when Bankruptcies are mentioned.

Exactly...  His SOP seems to be to 1: Lose, then 2: Declare success.

We know Macy's dumped his apparel line (now he sells them online on Amazon), and Ivanka had trouble with the DC hotel project.  They're also in that lawsuit for stealing tips from waiters.

Just a bunch of weirdos.

Nate Silver: Cruz, Not Ryan, Likely Wins Contested Convention

Donald Trump's loss in Wisconsin on Tuesday makes a contested Republican National Convention even more likely — and those delegates are leaning toward Ted Cruz despite talk of House Speaker Paul Ryan emerging as the nominee, statistical analyst Nate Silver said Wednesday.

"There are indications that the rank-and-file delegates are into Ted Cruz — and they're the ones who will have votes in Cleveland," said Silver, editor in chief of the FiveThirtyEight column. The convention will be held at the Quicken Loans Arena in July.
In most states, delegates to the national convention are selected separately from presidential candidates. Most states select delegates through conventions that are held on the county, congressional district or state level, he said.

However, "we know that Cruz is likely to do well among delegates chosen through state and local conventions because we've seen that demonstrated quite a few times already," Silver said.

He cited, for instance, such states as Colorado and Wyoming, where Cruz won a large number of delegates at the smaller conventions, and North Dakota, where "Cruz got a highly favorable slate of delegates approved at the state convention on Sunday."
Silver concluded: "We're also learning more and more about who those delegates are now that they're being chosen. They're not members of the Washington 'establishment.'

"Instead, they're mostly grass-roots activists, and many of them want Cruz to be their next president."

I do not want Ryan to be the nominee! He's no better than JEB or Rubio, and we do not need that type of person representing Conservatives.

If Trump fails to get the nomination, I suspect he will run as a third-party candidate and basically screw the Republican Party's chances of winning the Presidency. His reasoning for backing out of his pledge will be, "The party did not treat me fairly." (And, in my view, he'd have a legitimate point.)

And after the elections are done, he'll go back to being a reality TV personality, parlaying his presidential run into more fame and fortune. I doubt anyone will ever again take him seriously when it comes to politics.

My Mom says that Trump reminds her too much of Obama: so disgustingly arrogant that he refuses to acknowledge any faults, and instead will attack others. And I agree. Obama and Trump are remarkably arrogant that way.

I agree with that too.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

It is a bit puzzling how any Republican can win in Janesville, WI.

Still scratching my head over that one, I liken it to a TEA candidate beating Hillary in Kenosha Co.  (right on the border of Illi-noise, also a heavy Democrat stronghold.)

If Trump went 3rd party, he'd only wind up embarrassing himself with lack of turnout.
Trump is essentially stuck at 30% approval, and won't be picking up more, and half that support are libs, which means he takes nothing away from a Cruz ticket, which would only guarantee a Cruz win.
I hope he does run 3rd party.

That wouldn't screw the party.  He is stuck on 30% since the beginning.  His unfavorables are too high, and everybody and their mamma are anti-Trump.  I'd love him to go 3rd party, because I'm not ready for him to drop out yet.  He's a cauldron of stupid that I love watching faceplant.

Nobody takes him seriously now.  Plus, he's not rich.  He's a fraud and full of crap.

Trump has been one of the few who have made Hussein look halfway intelligent.  I thought I'd never say those words, because Hussein is such a clueless idiot on life, economics, and everything.

There's zero chance of that happening.  That only originates from the Trumpers.  Apparently, to them now (despite being "hated" by everyone apparently) Cruz is establishment, yet there's a danger of them uprooting the election and installing another "establishment" type.

Trumpers argue both sides at the same time, and they never make any sense.  Cruz will be the nominee, no question, so no worries.

He can't run, he can't win, even if they changed the rules, but that doesn't stop the Establishment from floating the balloon.
