They darn well better, Solar.  While you served in the military you carried the weight of the entire country on your back. Now that you need help, it is the privilege of we-the-taxpayers to make doggone sure you get it.

Quote from: taxed on January 04, 2024, 05:38:25 PMTalked to him last night. He said he was improving, but slowly...  They were loading him up on drugs, pudding, and he was watching westerns.

I actually wanted to be sick too...
Thank god for the 50s Western genre to keep my sanity and South park for my anchor to reality.

Toy took the plane from Az to Sacto, got sick, I of course pick it up, but because I have limited lung capacity due to an extremely enlarged spleen thanks to cancer, I couldn't take on the sudden increase of fluid.
It was 11:55 Pm and I was watching TV when I realized there was no way I was going to make it to morning on what little O2 I had for hiking, so Toy called 911, got oxygen and on my way to the hospital.

For the next 5? days, I'd get two hours of sleep at a time, between vitals checks and inhalation therapy, sleep was out of the question.
Because I was highly contagious, I had a private room, though I prefer cold air/window open, I was burning up because some idiot tried to commit suicide, all windows sealed above the first floor, we all must pay the price. (sound familiar" 2A?)

Anyway, at least they had basic cable, 16 channels, 3 of which were paid ads, 6 were old cop drama shit from the 90s 1 Spanish channel and two music channels 1 Grit TV, and a smattering of toons which I was in constant hunt for.
Yes, TV was my only distraction.
The only so called Snooze was FUX and MSNBC, neither of which is news, just opinion.
Yes, I was going into withdrawals since my Tablet wasn't connecting to their WIFI.

Anyway, it was a miserable stay all in all, but care was excellent, food was of really high quality as well.
The cool side was, 35 years ago I met my new doctor, my first thought was Doogie Howser And yes, they looked identical.

He was fresh out of school, but damn if he wasn't smart and loved being a kid doctor. Anyway, over the years we stayed in touch as I had moved into the VA System.
After years of govt medical, I escaped due to malpractice so they pay for me to see my choice of doctor.
In the years that followed, Doogie went on to literally take over the hospital system in my county and made some amazing improvements.

I will eventually be following up with his interview over his take on Cov19, and yes, he aligns with us, but has a few insights many of us weren't aware of, and yeah, he literally came out against Fauci and gain of function in his first statement, but had some good to say about the research that came out of all of this bull shit.
One being RSV, the virus I caught, a literal result of the purposeful mishandling of masks and quarantine.

I have to get in contact with him for a follow interview, and he's one busy guy, so it may take a bit.
Till then....

Thanks SueAnn. I was always against Govt medicine, but having seen seen how our Military industrial complex abuses those willing to fight for our country, I now believe every person who puts their life on the line, deserves at a minimum of basic care/medication.

Having witnessed first hand how the complex is all about profit and coverup, as in polluting ground water ETC, an endless list be it armor of poor quality boots, without consequence, these scum need to pay.
I now have cancer thanks to these scum who knew quite will they were poisoning us on day one, but personal profit was far more important than the thousands of lives being cut short.
The knew they'd be long gone before anyone caught them. But we can make them pay regardless through share holders!

If I can't berate them to death, I'll cough my way to their demise.

I spent the first 20 minutes trying to breathe this morning as my wife is trying to explain what she made me for breakfast, all I could say was "Coffee Woman"! cough, cough cough... :bigl

I use a nearby VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic for general medical care, bi-annual visits, etc.
Closest VA Hospital is Richmond, VA, and I live 70+ miles away, so any need for hospitalization is to local (Fredericksburg, VA) hospital. Currently my medical costs under the VA is $8.00 per month, lol.
I am insulin using type II diabetic (Agent Orange), hypertension (also AO), and partially deaf, (was a Navy Radioman in the 60-70's and one tour as an Advisor to Nam. (loud radios, and Bombs..lol).  I discovered the Community Care Network when my appendix went south three years ago, ambulance took me to local hospital, and I asked if I need to be Xfer'd to Richmond, Richmond declined (It was 2am in morning), and thats when I found out about CCN. My total costs including ambulance was Zero.
VA pays for my insulin, and bp meds, I also have BC/BS from federal service, it covers anything the VA doesn't cover, except the 8 dollars.  VA provides hearing aids, (Phonak Lumity) free.

I'm surprised you even get a bill for $8.00.
Yeah, the hearing aids were a must and now that I have the lates tech, I can actually hear.
The last ones I got were ear eggs without adjustments, so everything sounded like a Chinese kitchen silver ware war.

Harry, Thank you for your service to our beloved country.

Damnit son...you need to take care of yourself. I'm so glad you're up and at it. I need to come in here more often...fight the good fight my brother.
People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

Yeah, someone needs to help with the heavy lifting, right now. I'm lucky to get off a few posts before I have to go back to bed.

I have a vision disorder, which is genetic, the cornea of my left eye tends to absorb excess fluid, causing the eye to drift off center. I am prescribed "Maro128", which is actually NOT a prescription med, it's basically a saline/vasoline paste...I put it under eyelid before I go to bed at night, it draws the excess fluid out of my cornea, aligning it back to center.  If I purchase it over the counter, it cost 28 dollars a tube (1 month), I get the generic version from VA for 8 dollars......I ain't complaining.  Considering they cover my Diabetic supplies, and hypertenson meds zero cost to me.  BC/BS covers my cholesterol meds 100 percent, copay is zero.

Which model hearing aids did you get?  Most brands the VA issue have accessories, which are also free for the
asking      Phonak has a "charge and care charger" which dries and sanitizes your HA's.  VA supplies all accessories and supplies for free.

So glad that you are doing better Solar !
