Consider how much privacy you would have left if foreigners chose to mine your data for their (and not America's) purposes. Every food nazi would know what groceries you bought with your credit card. Every rabid-dog socialist screamer would know to whom you contributed money (and who you know from mining your email address book). If you buy "unapproved" magazines or books, imagine the score leftists would compile against you.

Question: how do we stop people not even in our own country? And in what possible way is this morally any different than our overthrowing foreign rule in 1776?
