Stryker Corporation has announced that it will close its facility in Orchard Park, New York, eliminating 96 jobs next month. It will also counter the medical device tax in Obamacare by eliminating 5% of their global workforce, an estimated 1,170 positions.
Jon Stryker is heir to the Stryker Corporation, one of the largest medical device and equipment manufacturers in the world. Stryker's grandfather was the surgeon who invented the mobile hospital bed. The company now sells $8.3 billion worth of hospital beds, artificial joints, medical cameras, and medical software every year.
Stryker, a member of the Forbes 400 list, was one of the top five donors to the Obama campaign. Having donated $2 million to the Priorities USA Action super PAC, Stryker also gave $66,000 in contributions to Obama and the Democrat Party.
Prior to the 2012 election, Stryker contributed millions to help Democrat candidates in his home state of Michigan. He also gave nearly $250 million to groups supporting gay rights, transgenderism, and the conservation of apes. In January, his Arcus Foundation donated $23 million to Kalamazoo College for an endowment to fund a center for social justice leadership.

I wonder if the President in the next four years will do nothing but complain about the condition of the economy that he inherited from the President of the last four years. I would agree that the US economy is in much worse condition than it was four years ago.

It's really sad. I am self employed, and have seen an upsurge in work over the past couple of months. Since it's been slow since Obama took office, I can only surmise that this uptick was a result of people seeing an impending Romney election. My phone has not rung, for work, since the election. :sad:

:sad: I hope things pick up again for you soon Kram. I can only assume this influx of libs on the forum is urban, because out here, there is a malaise, people are just down. I am heading out today after school to a going out of business sale. I don't have a whole lot of extra, but the lady is local. I hope she can find something else.
This is terrible, these libs are so distorted that they don't even see the damage they created. I don't even think they care at all. Those suffering today are just "sacrifices" for Progress.
It's beyond comprehension that they can't see that an expanding government only creates the problems they claim to be f"fixing."

It sure is beyond comprehension. A person doesn't have to go far to see the damage. My area is doing a little better than the rest of the state, but overall, NC unemployment is over 9%. Is this the only place where closed restaurants, empty storefronts, etc, are the only things that seem to be increasing?
Small businesses are getting absolutely killed. It gets worse in January.
I remember, not too long ago, when NC was the place to go. Before that, Colorado. My brother moved there and is doing well. The state isn't. The libs moved in and took over. I even remember when "California is the place you ought to be..."
Yes. It will be worse after January. If we're "lucky" you'll only see a deep recession (as if we've ever gotten out of this one).
I do believe the People will turn on the Dims in 2014. They can't blame Bush forever. I guess the People need a belly full before they begin to wake up.
I don't believe liberals are "stupid", they're EVIL.

Well, we got a republican governor that claims to be a conservative. We'll see. It's got to be better.
Ultimately, I think it's going to take a lot of conservative governors to stand up to Washington and say, "No more".
