First off, to cite any court proceeding in Egpyt as anything serious is a joke.  The Egyptian judicial system is a kangaroo court as evidenced by the fact that 100s of journalists and thousands of of political prisoners.  They are merely a reflection of Mubaraks old elite that still maintain power. 

Sisi, the current leader, won an election universally condemned as a complete sham.  He is widely held as a major violator of human rights abuses and one that now is back in favor in Washington.

Obama came into office praising Mubarak.  He did everything possible to hold out support for him until the very last minute when it was clear that Mubarak couldn't maintain power.  The only thing keeping Egypt afloat right now is American military aid and Saudi funding.

Sisi killed a thousands protesters in a single day and has about 15000 people in jail.  People there are saying he was worse then Mubarak and numerous humanr ights groups are warning that support for him is pushing more peole towrds Al-Qaeda.

Are you saying Sisi is worse than Morsi? Morsi showed in a very short term how bad he was except for radical Islamists. Sisi has brought some stability back to Egypt and would like to be an ally, which is what the US needs right now.

Sisi is one hundred percent worse than Morsi.  The Egpytian people clearly think so.  Stability was brought to Egpyt only if stability means under US control while opressing actually Egyptians. 

The real problem in Egpyt is the military elite who after decades of fincaning by the US own the country, steal funds from it, etc.

As I said, a US-allied with Morsi would do far more to end anti-US hatred then backing another corrupt murdering dictator.

Morsi was no saint and far far from perfect.  But hes a better man then Sisi in my view.  He was also quite tame as far as "Radical islamists" go.
