He/She could be checking on why b o can not longer practice law as an atterney also.    But then they have no problems spending other people money.  A normal person would ask why did they give up their law license after all the work and money to become atterrneys.    Hmm...did I just call myself normal

Why give it up even if you no longer intended to actively practice law? Simply being a member of the Bar might come in handy at times. You could write out legal documents, without shelling out for an attorney. Makes no sense - unless of course they were about to take it away. Giving up your license, and reapplying to the Bar a few years later is better than having it taken from you, in which case you may never get it back in that state. What do you think the chances are of Nifong practicing law again in North Carolina?

It is quite obvious Obie and his Kenyan Clown Circus have something to hide. i wish the media had done their job in 2007 and 08 before this clown became the POS president he is.

The damage to this country and race relations may be irreparable.

Hope for collapse so we can hang his head on a post.

Nifong is a walking dead man in NC, but I didn't expect you to bring it up, Giles. For the rest of us, Nifong was the prosecutor who was found to have suppressed evidence in the Tawana Brawley/Duke Lacrosse Team case.

My question is this: why is Al Sharpton not just as "dead in the water" as Nifong? What sort of society do we have that promotes Mr. Sharpton to a high-paying job on a cable "news" outlet, but relegates the prosecutor who pursued the case at the behest of Mr. Sharpton to oblivion? Clearly, Mr. Nifong and Mr. Sharpton, two men who were deeply involved with the prosecution of the Duke Lacrosse Team members, deserve the same fate after the case disintegrated under its own weight. But it didn't turn out that way.

WHY?

Excellent point tbone but we all know it is really all about race. One can not criticize blacks because they used to be slaves.

Sharpton like Jackson are scum of the highest level but you'll never see the media admit it. Nifong on the other hand is a white guy so he is fair game, still scum, but fair game

Here's an idea. Stop fixating on Sharptoon. And stop blaming society in general for his appearance in the media in particular. From reading what you post, one would get the idea that Sharptoon is the only African-American of any prominence in this country. I find this tendency, on the part of many in the majority population, to act as if one particular African-American speaks for all - or even a majority of - other African-Americans, endlessly fascinating. No one would ever think that one particular white speaks for all other whites, yet in the case of blacks, that has been done constantly through the history of this country. I guess getting sound bites from the official "spokesman" is easier than treating blacks as individuals, and going out and getting individual opinions.  I guess in that particular, many who call themselves conservative are no different than liberals. The see blacks not as individuals, but only as a group. Worse - as a particular stereotypical group. Why?

Tawana Brawly lived in Wappingers Falls N.Y. which is one of the towns that is in Dutchess County, N.Y. . She place herself into a garbage bag for fear of getting into trouble for staying out pass her curfew. That event took place in MY backyard ,and those who knew her, knew she made up the story. There is no LOVE lost for Sharpton here.
They just want to help you with your money!

Huh! Duke Lacrosse Team, right But Tawana Brawley?
My bad. You are correct -- Tawana Brawley and the Duke Lacrosse Team are two different cases, though the similarities are striking. Sharpton was of course the carnival barker in both cases, though Nifong was only involved in the Duke case. In both cases, a black female claimed she was raped by multiple white men and in both cases the charges were dropped for lack of evidence.

Giles, what irritates me the most about Sharpton and others like him is that he himself professes to be a "spokesman" for blacks. And of course the media fawning over him is also sickening.

And of course, attention has always been paid when a black woman accused a white man of rape - especially in the south/ sarc. Ever think that there may be a reason why hoaxes like Brawley get traction. One of the reasons ALWAYS brought up to justify any kind of black shooting, is the inner city black crime rate. Yet for some reason whites are unable to tie the acceptance of these hoaxes to their behavior in the past. It's not that difficult to believe that a people capable of The Tuskegee syphilis experiment, are pretty much capable of anything.

And last I looked, David Duke was claiming to be a spokesman for "whites" - hmmm - how should I put this - so the phuqk what! I guess the usual test is to actually see how much of a following he actually has. The media did that checking on Duke. The media didn't do that checking on Sharptoon. So who do you blame? As for fawning over Sharptoon, the media fawns over anyone willing to advance the narrative. Stop taking that media fawning as evidence of wide spread support.

Really good parallel the David Duke/Al Sharpton thing.

So Al Sharpton is to blacks as David Duke is to whites.

When Al Sharpton shows up and starts screaming for [choke] justice, all the blacks yell AMEN! and a great hue and cry ensues - lotsa commotiion.

When David Duke shows up anywhere and starts screaming, whites just go 'That guy's a moron' and pay him no mind.

Commotion sells newspapers, so the media covers Sharpton, he provides it.
They don't cover Duke, because everybody ignores him.

So my question I guess would be, if both these guys are morons, how come blacks fall for Sharpton every time whites don't fall for Duke?

Damn, I'm black and I don't recall once saying amen to anything Al Sharptoon has said. Think Dr Sowell or Dr Williams are in his "Amen corner"? How about Rep West or Rep. Scott? There are about 40,000,000 African-Americans in the US. So if Sharptoon holds a demonstration and 1,000 people show up, what exactly does that demonstrate. And again why are you blaming black people because all the white people who own newspapers keep putting him on the front page?
