Matt Bevin clinches KY Gov nomination

Bevin won, beating the McConnell-backed James Comer..  This is an off-year election, this November, so we can start 2016 off right with a Tea Party-backed Governor in a "blue" state.  Kentucky is considered blue, but it is a strong Second Amendment coal state (hence why you had McConnell and Grimes trying to out-Second Amendment each other).  Hopefully, Bevin can do us good.

Here is our Bevin vetting thread from his Senate run:

QuoteMcConnell's circle watched with horror as Bevin rose in the polls. "It's abundantly clear that his guiding light is to embrace whatever gets himself a little further down the road," McConnell advisor Josh Holmes told reporter Joe Gerth this month. At the same time, Comer was battling reports that he'd abused his college girlfriend—reports that he blamed on a flailing Heiner.

Neither a Bevin victory nor a nasty recount would necessarily hand November's election to the Democrats. The incumbent party, as expected, nominated Attorney General Jack Conway. In an average of recent polls, the Democrat only led Bevin by 6 points, and fought Comer to a tie. But Conway, the loser of a bitter 2010 race against Paul, was seen to have the best chance of victory if Bevin won the primary. Paul was hoping to run for president and Senate at the same time. A Governor Conway and Democratic House could stymie that. This was one reason why Paul congratulated Bevin even before the count was final in a tweet that was later deleted.

QuoteWhy Bevin winning is awkward for Mitch McConnell

And if you want to know how awkward it will be for McConnell and his team to stand next to Bevin in the general election, consider these quotes:

    Former McConnell Chief of Staff Josh Holmes: "If Matt Bevin had moved to a state where he had a better shot at being elected to office as a Democrat, he would articulate the values of liberalism with the same conviction he now talks about conservatism." (Louisville Courier-Journal, May 6, 2015);

    More Holmes: "Kentucky Republicans have a way of working through primary battles to reunite in the general election. Of course, there are certainly some candidates who are easier to reunite behind than others." (Politico, May 16, 2015);

    Even more Holmes: "I think Bevin disqualified himself with most Republican voters when he refused to endorse McConnell after the primary. It said more about his willingness to put himself before the party and the commonwealth than anything anybody else could possibly say." (Lexington Herald-Leader, Jan. 28, 2015);

    Former McConnell Campaign Manager Jesse Benton: "Mitch was a gentleman and extended several olive branches, but Bevin acted like a petulant child and slapped the hand of friendship," Benton said. "Republicans should not, and will not, take Bevin seriously." (Lexington Herald-Leader, Jan. 28, 2015).

In a way this is kind of weird. McCONell actually thought people would vote for his guy based on Mitch's record?
Now seriously, the Con has totally screwed this nation, and he was under the illusion that people like him?
Really? Is he and the Establishment that damned delusional, are they really that deep into the bubble that they honestly don't know how much they're despised?
So much so, that thy're on par with the Marxists in a popularity contest, that they come in second to Castro on a trust test.

I kid you not, I see where Fuglosi's approval is on par with Boner. Are these rino really this out of touch with reality?

I was just thinking... will he be our first Tea Party governor?  Maybe Pence was I guess... hmmmm...

Yeah.  The GOP are like a fat, ugly, smelly guy with food stains on his shirt who got rejected by a girl, and he just says it's because she's a stuck up bitch.

The bitch didn't like my shoes?
I swear, these people either live a lie, live in a bubble, or are so arrogant beyond belief, that they've become accustomed to getting their way.
Really, and the Con is a perfect example of the King not knowing the enemy is outside his chamber doors is about to cut his head off.
The entire kingdom is outside chanting "Off With His Head" and the idiot stands on the balcony waving to the crowd, wondering who's head they are talking about.
