Why Democrats have continually said that they never let a crisis go to waste, maybe this "crisis" can be used to free up more liberal time so that MORE can be done to implement socialism here in the U.S.

They warned them a week ago that things could get worse, but never stressed just how bad the situation was.
I knew it would only because of experience, but those in charge, for what ever reason, are soooo afraid of being wrong, that they'll continue to put lives in danger.

I've never really understood it, but it has something to do with the core of these bureaucracies. a culture of failure and blame, no one wants to take a stand, ever, knowing they can become the point of ire for those higher up!
They know if they do and anything goes wrong, and I do mean anything, be it a death on another fire, or vehicle accident, they'll blame the one guy who stood his ground and claim it was he that cause the chain reaction of events, due to moving resources around.

To me, it breeds cowards, it starts at The Guberners office, there is no leadership, just an entrenched cancer no one wants to fight, so no one ever takes responsibility.

Like I've been saying and you won't hear any of them say it, but this fire will continue to burn until the Summer is over and rain starts.

If anyone lives in an area that lies in the path of this fire, they better be prepared to go, or in the least, higher people to clear their property and build barriers.
Because Nature will choose its path and there's no stopping it.

I'll even make a prediction on this fire...The fire will head East south East, over the next few days, connect with the Tamarack fire to the South eventually, while heading for Nevada, will also turn North towards the lake forcing virtually what little manpower they have, into protecting structures.

At this point, and it depends of fuels, it will make a run Northward around the West side of the lake, while the East side hasn't near the fuels available because it drops into desert over the ridge into Nevada.

Granted this is all speculation, but  it was my job to study the resources and fuels available at the time, and a good section of my Patrol area led into the Tahoe basin.

At least the police know what's coming....

This is know as crowning, where sick or dead trees allow the fire to climb to the crown of the tree where the winds carry it to the next tree etc.
A lot of people have cleaned around their properties, limed up the trees, removed the fire ladder limbs, but neglect the sap bleeds on the sick trees.

I see it all the time, trees doing their best to fight off bugs, by a process of bleeding large amounts of sap which can stream down the side of a tree leaving 20' or more in length of pitch, about as flammable as gasoline and burns like napalm.
Literally a match waiting to be lit.
