The documents, which Whitman claims Nicky filled out and signed back in 2000 during her application for employment, appear to show that the maid stated under the penalty of perjury that she was a "lawful permanent resident" of the United States.

Whitman also claims Nicky provided her with a social security card and valid California Driver's License with her employment application ... which Meg kept and has now handed over to TMZ.

I heard this on the news this morning on my drive.  The woman was sobbing saying how she had been just tossed out like garbage...

If she lied then Whitman did the right thing. 8)

It was a good move on her part.  Unfortunately it is out there...placing doubt.  If I had any respect for Jerry Brown I would say I respected him less for such a cheap shot. ???

Well let's see where the story goes, so far I've only seen the TMZ site reporting the valid documents.

The Whitman campaign  moved quickly to counter the allegations by Nicky Diaz, saying the housekeeper from Mexico lied about her immigration status when she was hired in 2000, providing a Social Security card and other documents that appeared to show she could legally work in the United States.

The Whitman campaign released a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization employment eligibility verification form signed by Diaz when she was hired by Whitman in which she asserts under penalty of perjury that she is a lawful permanent resident.

he campaign also released copies of the Social Security Card and California driver's license supplied by Diaz at the time she was hired, and an employment questionnaire in which she checked a box saying that she could legally accept employment.

This is another dirty trick by the dems as we reach the final weeks prior to the election.  Dirty tricks is one thing that the dems do quite well.  I expect to see more of them as the next few weeks go by.  A lot of the time the dirty tricks work and that encourages the dems to continue doing them.  The dems know that they can't win this year on their record.

Armstrong and Getty made a ring tone out of the "You don't know me and I don't know you"  comment made by the maid.  Too funny.  It would be great for numbers you don't recognize.

I guess the main thoughts I had were:  If she is an illegal - why is she still in the country?  Why is her English still this bad if she has been here 10 years? And since she only worked for Whitman 15 hours a week who else was she working for? ???

At $24.00 an hour no less.
At that rate, Whitman obviously wasn't hiring an illegal, illegals will work for a third of that.

Yes she is but I am sure she has also made sure this woman will be well compensated for doing this.   Half of what she said sounded like the well coached phrases of Allred.   ::)
