If there were any doubt that Mitch McConnell is a lying, scum sucking dog...well that would be an insult to canines! Damn! Even the Libtard media was begining to acknowlege that it is (was) the Senate Democrats who would be causing any shutdown, because of their fillibuster of the funding bill that already passed the House of Representatives. Now, Mitch McConnell has unilaterally separated the funding of the Department of Homeland Security and stopping Obama's illegal amnesty for illegal aliens, into two separate bills!
Either McConnell is a coward or he is owned by special interests! Either way, he certainly doesn't represent the will of the people who sent him to Washington to represent them! :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:
This let's the Senate Democrats off the hook and puts the burden {blame} of stopping this illegal action of Obama, right back in the lap of John Boehner and the House Republicans. Will they go along to get along and agree to go along with the (new) Senate Bill or take the blame for gridlock, along with the political firestorm (whipped up by the media) over shutting down the Department of Homeland Security and putting our nation at risk. (even though this is a BIG LIE and the department won't "shut down", the media has previously demonstrated that they can shape public opinion by distorting the facts! (the previous goverment shutdown)

I thought Obama's amnesty scheme was put on hold by the courts. Why is the funding for Obama's illegal amnesty in the Homeland Security bill in the first place? Wouldn't it be better to pass a clean bipartisan HS bill and let Obama veto it? Then it would be solely his fault that HS employees won't be getting paid and many furloughed.
Chinless is a traitor as is anyone that supports the illegal invasion.

I'm sure that Mitch the Cowardly Weasel is betting that the appeal will be upheld and eventually the SCOTUS will strike down Obama's actions. One Federal Judge has had the b***s to stand up for the rule of law and say no to this self proclaimed Dictator! The Senate could have stopped it dead in it's tracks using their constitutional power (power of the purse). Many (enough) of the Senate Democrats were about to cave in and stand up (albeit reluctantly) to this power grab by the Executive. (after all, if this becomes precedent, the President may make whatever laws he wants; he already cherry picks those he choses not to enforce). This makes the rule of law a farce and Congress a mere rubberstamp Duma style legislative body!
Mitch is ultimately banking on nine unelected Wussies to "do the right thing" in compliance with the law and our Constitution! Big Gamble and we will be the losers!

The hell with Obama...
IMPEACH MCCONNELL!
As Rush said the courts will follow the Congress on this. If they pass a clean bill its a signal to the court congress has no problem with executive amnesty. Reps are the masters of meaningless votes and it seems we will have another on amnesty once the actual funding is passed. When was the last time the reps fought for anything important except for endless war when that has worked out so well.
I must be totally confused on this. If McConnell is splitting the bill, taking out Obama's funding for his illegal amnesty scheme, why is that a bad thing? Or does splitting the bill mean something else?

He is having a real vote on the actual funding and a show vote on Obama's amnesty. The show vote on amnesty will come after amnesty is fully funded. Its just a way for the Rubio's of the world to run around claiming they opposed executive amnesty while voting for it all the same.

Maybe I get it now. The House first passed the bill with an exclusion to not fund Obama's amnesty stuff, and that's why the Dims are filibustering it. McConnell wants to take the exclusion out.
But even if he did do that, and it passed the Senate, it would still have to go back to the House to be approved. Right?

Yea, and reps will fold like cheap suits.
Obama had the senate and the house and we got screwed. Obama lost the house and we still got screwed. Obama lsoers the senate and house and well bingo we still get screwed. Go figure.
Question who stabbed the voters in the back...democrats or republicans...?

You say that as if there's a distinction between the two.
But seriously, this is far from over, the Conservatives have vowed to fight.

I hope you are right, and I hope the senate knows this is not what we voted for.

Oh they know quite well what we want, and yet still, they fight us.
I'm just hoping Mc CON-ell realizes just how much this is going to cost those that follow his lead id he pushes for amnesty..

The House should reject the senate bill and send their original bill back to McConnell. McConnell should let the democrats filibuster a vote until DHS is not funded. It is time for hard ball regardless of what the MSM will report.

Nope. The time is past.
If McConnell had not split the bill, and the Democrats continued to fillibuster it right up to the deadline, it would be extremely difficult for the MSM to blame the eventual shutdown on the Republicans. The same would go if they passed the bill and the President vetoed it.
Now, however, they have given the MSM and the Democrats copious amount ammunition to place the shutdown (if there is any) squarely on the shoulders of the GOP.
But, don't worry folks. There will be no shutdown. Boehner will cave.

And if it doesn't pass the house they will blame it on the republicans instead of the senate democrats that filibustered the house bill. This really stinks!!
Republicans are great at forming circular firing squads. All the Rubioite Mac had to do was simply say we have a bill to fund the department and i will sit and wait until the democrats allow a vote.
Such doom and gloom.....if Boner takes up the Senate bill, the house can then add amendments, which means that it then goes back to the senate, can not be filibustered, and pass on a 51 vote majority. So the clean bill goes up to the house, boner has an amendment to defund amnesty added, the house passes, and it goes BACK to the senate for a simple majority vote. Now, is GOP leadership that smart...we will see but this can be done!
Ironically Boehner is standing firm.

I heard Rush talking about this today. Like him, I'm not sure McConnell is that smart. However, Boehner is doing the right thing by saying send me a bill. Then, the democrats will have to vote on any amended bill. Brilliant strategy and puts any shutdown on the democrats. After all, they asked for a clean bill.

So if this happens and the House takes out funding for the illegals, the Senate can pass it with a 51 vote. Can Obama veto this or does it just stand?
If it happens the media will go into overdrive on how the Republicans hate poor people and are racists.

It still has to have a presidential signature...or veto. I hope the house plays it likes this and then obummer vetos...that way any "shutdown" is totally on HIS shoulders!

Doesn't it go to reconciliation first if changes are made and the go to the floor?
Reps punted. 1 week extension.
McConnell talked a good game and it worked - right up to the point that he caved to the Senate Democrats and sent a "clean" bill back to the House.
It reminds me of that line from the movie, "The Boys in Company 'C'":
"If you are going to be stupid enough to pull a gun on somebody, you'd better be smart enough to pull the trigger!"
