I keep telling you, Billy, nobody is going to give law enforcement an order to "confiscate" guns from "law abiding citizens".

Individuals and groups will be targeted as being a "danger" to themselves and/or to "public safety" - just like the Branch Davidians were and just like the Hutaree were. They'll start at the fringes and work their way toward the mainstream using trumped up if not downright false charges and allegations. And most law enforcement types will feel they are doing their duty and keeping society "safe".

Remember the old saying from NAZI Germany.

No doubt, this is a good sign.

I don't know if we're out of the woods though. Probably not.

I can see a media blitz coming that is designed to get these sheriffs out of power in the next election cycle. From there, individual cops that disagree, will be labeled as trouble makers, fired, and replaced with cops that are more agreeable.

Just look at what Obama is trying to do to Sheriff Arapaio!

Our local sherriff was interviewed by an area newspaper yesterday. He said he fully supported the 2nd Amendment and even the ownership of "assualt" weapons.

The second half of the strategy will be to demonize, frame, and otherwise get rid of those LEO's who think this way.

It will take some time, but just wait.  Just as the leftist machine can always get something (or completely invent it) on Romney, Cain, Palin, Desjarlais, and so on, they'll get to working on LEO's who disagree with them.

Maybe it will take long enough for a conservative prez, or House-Senate, to really roll back some of this BS.

I agree with you, but only in certain parts of the country. Being in western NC we are fortunate to be more conservative. The exception is San Francisco East (Asheville), but folks here support the sherriff's position by a large majority.

On a similar note it is being reported that Obama will have childern and some parents as props for his gun control announcement tomorrow. Just when we think he can't be any more appalling he goes even more over the top.

Well, the establishment will more than likely run into a snag when he deals with my sheriff.  Our sheriff is well known for his stand on protecting your family and your home.  He has advised and santioned us to get the permits to have guns in our homes.  He has no problem with citizens keeping firearms in their homes for protection but advocates safety and staying within the local laws for that right.

FWIW, NC is reserved for North Carolina, ours is spelled out as Northern Ca.
But you're right, if not for the Bay area, Northern Ca is solid conservative, 70% of Ca is conservative, it's just the leftists rewrote voter lines to benefit them.

The Sheriff is still in power and many others across the country are emulating him, he is an inspiration. Obamao knows the limit he can go with Sheriff Joe otherwise he will make a Martyr out of him. Something he cannot risk.
