Haters gotta hate -- but the authors of some hate mail may surprise you!

A team of researchers at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany has reviewed over 14,000 individual pieces of "hate mail" received by the Israeli Embassy in Berlin and Germany's Central Council of Jews. The results of their review surprised many, including the researchers themselves.

Naturally (though hardly professionally), the team started with the assumption that ultra-nationalist neo-Nazi types -- generally (and incorrectly) referred to in liberal/progressive circles as "ultraconservative" or "extreme right-wing" -- would bear the greatest responsibility. They were flabbergasted to find that such extremists accounted for only about 3% of the letters. A far higher proportion originated with a group of people the researchers themselves would never have suspected when their study began....

QuoteThe study concluded that a majority of the messages – 60 percent – were sent by educated Germans, including university professors and priests.

That finding shattered the research team's initial assumptions.

"At first, we thought that most of the letters would be sent by right-wing extremists," Schwarz-Friesel said. "But I was very surprised to discover that they were actually sent by people from the social mainstream – professors, Ph.D.s, lawyers, priests, university and high-school students."

One can only wonder that "professors, Ph.D.s, lawyers, [and] priests..." were considered the "social mainstream." I am curious whether the researchers happened to notice that their "mainstream" group responsible for the bulk of the hate mail was comprised less of actual mainstream people and more of those most extensively and/or recently immersed in academia.

Considering how Germany reacted to the Nazis and stamped hard on all extremist political groups, is it any wonder the anti-Semites simply adapted themselves into their political mainstream, to avoid being singled out?

Academia simply shows their "social superiority" by fighting the "Jews", under the guise of supporting the Palestinians against the Israelis (what they really mean is the Jews). We also shouldn't forget that proving how "evil" the Jews are, wipes clean the slate of their Nazi past.
