I think he means it. He's the only real moderate in the Senate who is waking up to Biden and the Left ramrodding legislation down the throats of the American people without any compromise whatsoever and sees that it has to stop

Manchin is a very reliable liberal vote but he is in a dilemma. WVA is VERY conservative and with a 50/50 senate he cant be seen as THE GUY that gave the stamp of approval to a flood of communism. Sinema is a bit of a surprise. If it were 53-47 dem then Manchin would vote far left straight down the line.
I get some work / travel for work into WV, so I ASK people what they think of Joe Manchin... am astonished to hear practically everyone say they LIKE JOE!
They know what they got, afraid of change (or something like that, "it could be worse!"), and Joe brings home-the-bacon.
They know Joe's a "snake", but he's *their* snake.
Joe is like Battered Wife Syndrone. I know he's no good, coming home & beating me, but, he's a good provider, meh, it could be worse.

Good point, it shows he not only knows his constituency, and just what it takes to stay in power. He walks that socialist line, he gives them everything they demand while placating their patriotism.
He's literally the epitome RINO in Dim clothing.
Manchin will be under tremendous pressure and I believe him when he makes these claims as the OP stated in this thread. That said, the left is not above making threats and following through on them.
I hope and pray he will be able to hold firm.
I have no intention of shitting myself, but as I age the likelihood increases drastically. Few on either side keep their word, let alone intend to do so irrespectively of the seconds their voice box creates.
