I heard Mark saying this last night.

I DON'T support Obamacare.

Please correct my error if I am incorrect.

In all types of insurance, the people NOT expected to use it pay for those who DO use it.  Good drivers pay for all the bad drivers.  Yes, they may try to surcharge bad drivers at some point, but it still works that way.

Group health policies are based on some don't use it at all and some use it a lot.  They hope to achieve a balance and even make a profit by estimating that when they charge a company for it.

So, in this case, your younger people (age 20-30), particularly males (who don't have the "female" issues) will pay the most.  Younger males will USE it the least (statistically), so they will subsidize OLDER people who DO use it.

I hear it referred to as redistribution of wealth by some, but if that's the case, ALL forms of insurance do the same thing.

So, do people not understand the concept of insurance or what?  We are MANDATED to purchase auto insurance, our mortgage holders DEMAND we purchase homeowner's insurance, although life insurance is usually optional (few situations where you may be required).

I DO NOT support Obamacare.  But, I find this to be the wrong argument.  Get government OUT of our personal business and the business of messing up health care is a better one, in my opinion.  They are already deeply in with Medicare and Medicaid.  Those aren't going anywhere.

Repeal Obamacare and deal with the major issues - people who don't have access to private insurance (and don't fall under Medicare and Medicaid)

and those who have pre-existing conditions that cannot get traditional insurance.  Let insurance companies form a group and try to

compete for those customers.

I just don't think the concept of some people paying for others is a good argument against it if you understand the concept of all types of insurance.

There's also an equally disgusting story that Boehner & Co. are trying to ram a full year's budget or CR though, so that the new reps and senators can't develop a budget until next November.

They have the option of just one month's CR to let the duly elected guys create a budget in January.  But apparently they're trying to avoid it at all costs.

It could take until November if their intention is to write a good budget and go through each dept. looking for waist to cut. Writing a true comprehensive budget can't be done in a month thus the need for a CR

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.
