Had to search the archives for this thread to bring an update....  I am suspicious that the Administration may have found something over at NSA to blackmail this Judge.  He is relenting on making certain witnesses testify.

A federal judge who last winter ordered a halt to President Obama's de facto amnesty and then ordered federal officials to testify when they were found to be in violation of his injunction is relenting, just a little.

U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen said Tuesday he will release certain defendants from testifying, but he warned that he expects the federal government to comply with his order to stop its delayed-deportation program before an Aug. 19 hearing.

Fully.

"The court does not consider mere substantial compliance, after an order has been in place for six months, to be acceptable and neither should counsel," Hanen wrote in his newest order in a case brought by 26 states.

I wouldn't read much into it yet! The DOJ probably gave certain guarantees to the judge of compliance to his order that certain witness from required attendance. Kind of Common thing.; How ever they had better not be leading this guy on.
If I remember ( without re-reading the op) His order was sweeping. for your post he didn't make it go away he just rolled it back a little. Like I said the DOJ atty's probably made promises of compliance they had better live up to!

Or, he could be compromising to save face.   Let most of the high level officials off the hook and make it sound like nothing is being compromised.  Time will tell.  But by then, most people will have totally forgotten about the entire issue.....we will be miles down the road with more pressing issues at hand.  That's the way these things usually play out.

Even those of us on this forum are scratching our heads to remember this case.... and we tend to stay on top of the issues!  It happens!!

Can they claim executive immunity in a federal court? I think the 5th circuit will back this judge again!
Yes, unless the Supremes are going to do as they did with Obamacare and simply blatantly to re-write our Constitution once again. To prevent the President from doing so.

Maybe we could organize a committee of citizens-in-good-standing to slip up to the national cesspool and escort the officials in question down to this judge's court....

A federal judge in Texas who earlier ordered President Obama's executive-order amnesty program suspended and then was aggravated by the administration's action on the program and misleading information the administration gave him – at one point questioning whether he could believe what Obama says – continues to consider what punishment should be imposed for that behavior.

A report from Bloomberg said that Judge Andrew Hanen, at a hearing on Wednesday, gave both sides in the case until Sept. 4 to "suggest what punishment he should impose on the Obama administration if he decides he was intentionally misled."

The case was brought by 26 states whose officials sued Washington over Obama's plans to allow millions of illegal aliens to get special permission to remain and work in the United States.

The Obama administration earlier was openly dismissive of the judge.

How would Sharia Law punish such actions?  Give him whatever they would give him since he is so much in favor of that bunch of slugs.

Wouldn't it be "just desserts" for someone of his low standing here?  He's got the best of both worlds and he can smugly stand and tell us what we are gonna have to embrace?  "The future does not belong to those that would slander the name of Islam".  That statement will be or should be in his epitaph.  He fully deserves any and all foul punishment usually meted out to gentiles and he'd better be glad that I'm not a judge on the supreme court.

I cannot wrap my head around the fact that so many Americans just dismiss the fact of his origin because he says he is an American.  Heck, in another country, he'll be a citizen there or wherever he wants to be.  One lie right after another one and this country is doing what the Germans did under Hitler.  The way to do this has been fully implemented thru our economy.  Starve the people, take away all jobs, dumb down the school children, make every refuge a place of torment and you've got the people under control.

The DOJ atty's and the department heads directly responsible for violating this judges order should be held in criminal contempt!
A Complaint against the DOJ ATTY's should be forwarded to the Bar to start disbarment proceedings for lying and supplying false evidence to his court! If necessary this judge should appoint a special prosecutor!

Let Obama interfere with the federal courts! There are so many ways the court can screw this administration if he really picks a fight with them. No Obama would throw them under the bus in a flash!
