This article by the MSM (AP) indicates the tougher stand by the pubs is somewhat surprising to the dems. I am not shocked at this since the Washington GOP had established its MO as an entity that will cave at the end. I am hopeful they will maintain this stance if the MSM begins reporting on it. A majority of the American people feel we have a spending problem and I believe holding firm will not be as negative as many would think.

I don't see how they could cave. Obama painted himself into a corner and it was obvious to everybody. So obvious even his media lapdogs were reporting it.

Hopefully Boner and McGriddle have learned that they can actually stand up against the lying and threatening, without crying and begging for forgiveness.

And that all the kids cheered for them, and it felt good.

Like watching a couple of scrawny little kids get up the nerve to say no to the bully.

Hopefully they don't regress, and they realize that sticking it to Obama on debt ceiling and continuing res, will feel twice as great.  Everybody say your prayers.

I personally think Obama has never really been challenged. There is speculation he is very thin skinned and I believe his actions confirm that. I hope the pubs press him and he just might do something that will blow up his parade.

Good observation. The Kenyan has thin skin precisely because he has never encountered a situation where a thicker one would be an asset. As you say, he's never been really challenged, and he skates along on the literally unforgivable boosterism of the MSM. Fast & Furious, for just one example, would have utterly destroyed GWB's presidency, not because it was/is a flagrant violation of a great many laws of the land (it is), but because it would have been committed by the hated GWB. No politician in my lifetime has received the sort of kid-glove treatment the MSM routinely doles out to the Kenyan.
